I'm sure Stacey would've been my favorite...might've been intimidated, but ...I'd still want her to sit for me cause she was so cool (at least from a kid's perspective), and like others said, creative and great with kids.

Hmmm...maybe Mary Anne or Shannon? ITA with the people who would have idolized Stacey....she's exactly the kind of teenager I wanted to be!

I wanted to be just like Stacey when I was thirteen. Was so dissapointed when that didn't happen.

I would have wanted to have Mary Anne sit for me. She has the personality in a sitter that I think I would have liked best.

They all have their own good qualities. I wouldn't have minded having any of them as a sitter. I'd probably pick Stacey and Mary Anne as my top two.

Yeah I do think both Stacey and Kristy might be a bit intimidating. I think I'd just be scared of Claudia. MA would probably bore me. I could see myself being really interested in Dawn and thinking she was pretty cool. I'd also think Stacey was really cool but in a more unapproachable way.

I wouldn't have thought Stacey was cool or wanted to be like her but I think she would have been my choice for a sitter because she seemed to treat the kids the most "adult". I think Kristy would have bugged me with her great ideas and MA with her crying at everything, though I probably would have liked both of them okay. Mal and Jessi would have been fine. Claud would have been waaay to dumb and I have no interest in art. Abby would have really bothered me with her constant jokes. Not sure about Shannon. Logan would have been okay, I think. (I actually did have some guy "friends" ;D who were about 7 or 8 years older keep an eye on me at times at the horse shows. Logan reminds me of some of them)

I would have liked Mallory or maybe Jessi, because I was horse-obsessed too. We'd have had so much in common

^ I wasn't at all "horse crazy" but always rode and had horses so they probably would have loved sitting for me ;D The one time I did have a sitter, it was a girl from my 4h horse group and we rode. I can see Stacey being reluctant to go in the barn if she needed to. Wouldn't want to get dirty ;D Maybe I'm misjudging her, though.

To be fair, Mary Anne doesn't really cry much in front of charges does she? She always seems very put together when she's babysitting.

^ Agree that she usually stays pretty together while sitting. In fact, I’ve seen her really put her foot down or take charge and show a very level head, which I like. What I am going by, I guess, is how the books say things like she even “cries at sad commercials” so I would assume that is in front of charges, too. I’m a really sensitive person who cries at almost anything (don’t even think about yelling at me ;D) but MA seems almost “dramatic” sometimes instead of sensitive. This bothers me in my aunt. For example, if I just say something like “my friend’s dad is sick,” she’ll stick her lower lip out, make this exaggerated pouty face, and tear up, saying “awww!” It is really annoying and somehow this is what I picture MA doing when they describe her in the chapt. 2s. But this is probably just my perception. Other than that, I might have liked having her sit for me too. I liked reading, so we might have had that in common, though I think our taste in books would have been different. I never liked Little Women or The Secret Garden or books like that.

Sometimes she does cry in front of them, obviously so much that in Jessi and the Horrible Prank, when the kids they sit for do the BSC follies, the kid who acted out Mary Anne just constantly pretended to cry ;D Also in Get Well Soon Mallory she tears up over the kids being so eager to help the elderly and when she takes them to see Beauty and the Beast at the cinema (only mentioned), she bursts into tears when the Beast dies while the other kids are laughing.

^ That's exactly the kind of thing that would have bugged me as a kid. I would have seen it as "dramatics".

Just found an example of MA crying - in the way that I was talking about that would bother me - when baby-sitting. In Dirty Diapers, Kristy says that she literally started crying when reading the Lorax to Andrew. That would have frustrated me and made me feel like "get a grip". My mom cries over strange things like that, too, and it always makes me roll my eyes and annoys me.

I probably would have liked any of them, but my top three would be Stacey, Mary Anne, or Mal--Stacey because she seemed creative and cool, Mary Anne because she was sweet, and Mallory because we could bond over our love of writing.
