I haven't been able to decide yet. I like quite a few of the moms.

I decided on Rioko just because she absolutely cannot function in the morning without coffee, like me.

I liked Stacey's mother and Rioko the best out of the sitters' mothers. I always liked the interaction between Stacey and her mom and, well, Rioko's a librarian. She also seems very patient -- though I guess with a daughter like Claudia you'd have be either a saint or feel like you we perpetually waiting for Godot -- and I liked how she and Mr. Kishi "came to the rescue" in Claudia and the Terrible Truth.

I haven't voted yet, because I don't know who to choose - I liked a lot of the moms. So, is Jessi's mom really named Janice? I didn't know that.

^ I didn't either until I looked them up in the complete guide. ;D I don't think they ever call her by name.

I chose Maureen McGill. I really liked the way she and Stacey interacted - they were really close, but she was still an authority figure (unlike Sharon, who Dawn had to take care of). I always liked reading about Maureen and Stacey hanging out and spending time together. And though it's sort of irrelevant, I like how she didn't get remarried right after her divorce! It was cool to see a single parent stay a single parent in the series.

^ I loved their relationship, too, because it reminded me of my mom. ;D Speaking of that, I just read Sunny Diary II in the CA Diaries series and it really freaked me out about her mom being sick. I like Mrs. Winslow and am sad she died....

I like Mrs. Kishi, but maybe it's just because I have a Japanese friend who loves books...Hikari is her name.

This was a tough one. I was going to vote for Mrs. McGill at first, since while she has her faults she and Stacey are so close, but I then I remembered how much I like Jessi's family.

I really like Mrs. Pike. She seemed so cool in Abby in Wonderland.

^ She was totally supportive. I just read Claudia and the Terrible Truth, and Mrs. K. was great in that! Not the storming in to rescue the abused family - that was super dangerous. But she held Claudia while she cried, and she was very cool about keeping Claud in the loop rather than just being an adult and completely taking over. I have to go with Mrs Kishi because she let Claudia know that she tried to protect her from anything that was bad in the world....and when they was in the car Mrs.K kept telling Claudia that they was safe...I just think Claudia was just being a teenager when she said her parents was so unfair ...because to me when I read her books her parents are very supporting to her..Any parent could have taking her out of all the activities that she was in but instead her parents just kept her in them..I also think that her parents just said that she could have Junk food but that much or they saw she was eating alot of junk food in told her to stop...because can a parents say they cant have junk food and they approve of them eating junk food..and her parents are dring coffee for breakfast...COFFEE IS NOT HEALTHY.....
