I looove PJs. I can't remember all the themed days we had. I know there was mismatch day and then of course, spirit day where we wore school colors. During my senior year, spirit week was the week 9/11 happened, so we made it into USA spirit day. I thought that was nice. I tihnk we might have had PJ day, but I usually wore sweats and track pants to school at least once/week anyway. I don't get how PJ day helped our football team either, but it was fun to see all the kids dressed up and being silly.

I am just starting to re-read and had the thought to look at the cover of "Baby-sitters' Remember." If that LONG pink ballgown-like dress nightgown is what MA usually wore to bed, of course, she'd have issues wearing it to school! She should have worn a pair of sweats and a yellow long sleeved T shirt and been done with it.

Part of the problem was that Mary Anne was such a stickler for the rules and insisted that the pajamas *had* to be exactly what she went to bed in. I bet she would never even consider wearing anything that wasn't ''real'' pjs to sleep in. The menu at Denny's would probably make her nervous because you can order breakfast any time of the day.

^Maybe she and Karen should join forces. Lol to the Denny's menu as that is something I like about their menu. I finished re-reading and have to admit that Dawn really was right on in this one. I, too, liked that for once Sharon had a role other than being scatter brained.
Did the Dewitts always live in Stoneybrook? Do we know how Franklin and Natalie met? I ask because from the sounds of their new house, it may have rivalled the farmhouse at least in terms of ceiling height. It very well might have been cheaper to expand one of their exisiting homes.

Okay sooooo, this one took everything I had to get through. I found it completely ridiculous - all of it. Kristy made me so mad saying she didn't think that she could ever be friends with MA - really Kristy??? UGH - when is Dawn leaving this series for good...I can't wait

^Very soon! Kristy was a complete jerk in this. I have to give Mary Anne credit for looking stunned by K's callous remark instead of breaking down and crying like usual. Too bad MA didn't have the strength of character to express how that made her feel. All the characters in this were so OOC that it was

^You know, you're right. Claudia usually is the most level-headed when there's a BSC fight or crisis. She also does a great job of trying to remind the others that they are all friends and to remember that's more important than whatever petty thing they are currently arguing over. Maybe this was finally something (bigger than just art class) school -related that Claudia was into, and she didn't want that taken away.

I actually liked that Claudia and Kristy were united in their crazy over-enthusiasm. When you're excited about something it's so much more fun to be around people who feel the same way. Yeah, yeah, they were rude to Mary Anne. Whatever.

Hahaha I certainly don't care that they were rude to MA - I mean I can appreciate that I guess I just don't get the whole school spirit thing. We had a week in my hs right before homecoming but no one ever got all - you didn't dress up so we will f with you.

^I could see them being initially upset in a teasing way and/or offerring MA "pajama suggestions." Someone should have told MA that pj's, gasp, can be whatever you want them to be. As MA reminds us, that (her not wanting pajama day) was what started everything. Everyone was ooc so why not have throw in a bsc "fight?"

This one was just ugh. I do feel like everyone was mean to everyone else which I never like. I mean you know how I feel about Dawn and MA, but it wasn't necessary to not be her friend ever again.

^You summed it up perfectly, Wiggirl. It would have been more interesting reading about a protest or school experience from Richard and Sharon's days at either SMS or SHS.

Didn't care for this book. Couldn't stand MA being so whining about wearing pjs for one day. I love wearing pjs. We did Spirit week. It was fun. But doing it a whole month. Seems too long for event.
Subplot was dull.

Apparently Ann thought of this book after reading about something similar in a newspaper? It was a cool idea, and as a kid I really liked this book. Mary Anne seems really assertive on the cover, telling the reporter to "look down" at Dawn's yellow socks. What's up with Dawn and constantly wearing entire denim outfits? I guess denim is synonymous with Dawn?
