No, he didn't really get mad. She had the money to pay him when she finally confessed what she did. He wasn't thrilled with the fact that she got a job behind his back, but he basically let it go.

Im surprised at that, how did he let it go? Imagine if he was still strict by now though? He'd let her have it.

^I was just thinking the same thing. If this had been back when he was " stricter" she would have been in for a lot of trouble. Granted, maybe Mary Anne maybe would not have done something like that back in the day for all we know.

I agree on that. He wouldn't trust her again. If Mary Anne haven't stood up to him, he'd be very, very mad.

I'm pretty sure Richard wouldn't have even let Mary Anne near his credit card in the early days. Back then he refused to let her spend three dollars on pizza. (See Kristy's Great Idea)

I agree with Booboobrewer. The old Richard wouldn't have let Mary Anne use the credit card. Not that he would have needed to, because the old Mary Anne had Richard and Kristy to buy presents for and that was about it.

So I read this one this morning...I definitely agree that Mary Anne could have returned a present or six. She sacrificed a lot of her time in the days leading up to Christmas. The holidays are already stressful enough, why add a heavy, sweaty elf mask to the equation? It's funny how Kristy is all "uhh calm down" to Mary Anne while they're shopping...Mary Anne wasn't even looking at price tags. At least this lesson about credit cards came early It might have been more interesting if Angela's parents had happened to be clients of the BSC or people they knew. We never learn her last name. Maybe she's the cast-out older sister of a sitting charge.

Does Angela actually live in Stoneybrook?

I liked reading the descriptions of the presents that Mary Anne brought. It was interesting how Hunter knew that it was Mary Anne in the elf costume and not Logan and Dawn. Maybe he somehow knew her better than Logan and Dawn.

rereading this one right now. what i don't understand is why she didn't just unwrap the presents and take some back. she must have had them all labeled with names so it would have been easy to decide which ones. or at least it would have been much easier than lying about your age and getting a minimum wage mall job, while breaking a bunch of laws in the process. presents like the baseball mitts would have been fine since it was just one big present, but dawn doesn't need two sets of earrings and a matching necklace. homegirl has plenty of jewelry.

But if Mary Anne returned some of the presents she bought, then we wouldn't have this book.
