I searched and there was no thread for this....?!
One book where I don't think I've ever skipped over the subplot when I read it...I don't like Jenny all that much, but she is really likeable here. I like that Jessi also sat for her one time and it wasn't just always MA.
Someone already mentioned the yummy-sounding food in the food thread, but that dinner that Logan makes MA and the meal she wants to order at the diner before he jumps in and orders for her - they both sound delicious!
Oh, and her plans to sit by the fire and knit sounded so nice.
I cracked up during Kristy's chapter when Karen is being all mope-y and wants Kristy to read her a copy of The Dead Bird. That was cool that they included the Karen-Ricky-Pamela love triangle from "Karen's in Love" since that was one of my fave LS books...

I love it when the LS or BSC books refer to the other... it doesn't happen much, though. The scene where Jenny met her new little sister was just adorable, in that schmaltzy kind of way I don't remember much about the main plot, unfortunately! Will have to skim through this one again!

The ending of this one is so sad!! I mean, you know it's going to happen, but it's still sad. I like this book though. Good to see Mary Anne stand up for herself for once

Oh, I love Mary Anne's fantasies about Logan and Olivia! I thought they were funny. The presents that Logan got Mary Anne all sound so nice! And not very thirteen-year-old-boy-ish.

^Oh yeah, the Olivia bit was hilarious and totally in character. Reminded me of when MA had a similar fantasy in Winter Vacation.

^^I loved that one! Especially her and her "and Olivia would put on some fabulous movie star wife parties and Logan would be like 'Oh, I love you, dear, so much. Mary Anne never would have been able to put on such a fabulous party' or whatever. Too freaking funny.

Hehe, Mary Anne does get some great moments, doesn't she? booboobrewer, I never made the connection between Olivia and the hot girl that Logan might have met in Aruba in SS3. Mary Anne seems a bit insecure in her relationship, doesn't she?

^That she is. Maybe that's why Logan turned into the control freak- because she was so insecure of their relationship and he sensed that at times. Like, maybe he wanted to "take care of her" so she wouldn't be so insecure. Who knows what was going through that boy's mind in this book.

Well, to be fair, Logan did the same thing. He kept imagining Mary Anne and Alex huddling together in Sea City during the "romantic" hurricane.

That's true. I loved how he was like 'he's nothing compared to me', which I guess means he thought Alex was "wimpy." Yeah, like Logan was so buff.

Well, he *was* an athlete. And he made Stacey blush when he lifted up his shirt in Mary Anne Breaks The Rules, so he can't be too bad

Mary Anne seems a bit insecure in her relationship, doesn't she? Well, I guess you can understand it, since MA sounds like she's supposed to be somewhat nerdy and Logan is Mr Perfect - jock, good-looking, smart, popular... not normally the type who goes for a ultra-shy, fairly plain chicks who love knitting. Most 13 yr old boys are pretty shallow, right? Of course, there are exceptions to every rule but I can't really imagine this relationship IRL. Not at their age. I remember when I first read the scene where Logan met Alex and it almost seemed like Logan was checking Alex out! ;D Remember on the TWOP boards, how everyone thought Logan was gay?

Oh yeah..."as looks go, his were solid." Hm...
Forgot to add I really love this cover. Best Logan pic, and I love MA's hair and hat. (Although she looks a bit too tan for a CT winter.)

It did sound like Logan was checking Alex out! I had forgotten about that scene. Logan's descriptions are always kind of .... can't think of the word I'm looking for. I don't know (or want to know how a 13 year old guy thinks, though. Curious which ghost writer wrote the stuff from Logan's perspective and always wonder how Peter Langrais (sp?) has any idea what girls are thinking. He kind of creeps me out.
