That got me curious so I looked it up, and 12-year-old kids are allowed to work in businesses where their parents are the sole owners. From the description of Sea City, I would imagine all the businesses are independent, family-owned places, so that makes sense for the story (even though I don't think the book ever touches on who owns the shop). But my other takeaway is that 12 years seems REALLY young to be working!

Thanks for checking into that. It just sounded like Chris was doing some pretty grown up work there so it just seemed strange to me, lol. I've never seen a 12 year old working like that. But maybe it's more common in places like Sea City.

Seriously ? Did Carol dump someone else's kids on Dawn so that she and dawns father can go out ? It was Dawns vacation ! He didn't even ask her .

Mary Anne and her twin brother are both very crispy. Again, these are probably poor quality uploads.

I'm loving the French covers in general, but this one doesn't look like the beach. I would believe you if you said it was Montana.

She oddly looks more angry, definitely not happy to be there.

One more. She looks like quite the diva. I'm wondering how that little chocolate scoop is staying on the ice cream cone, lol. Titles: A new friend for Inge Too many boys for Anne-Marie Mary Anne and the boys

There are no boys on that cover! For a book about too many, there should be at least some.

Seriously ? Did Carol dump someone else's kids on Dawn so that she and dawns father can go out ? It was Dawns vacation ! He didn't even ask her . I just read this one, and this bothered me SO much. Jack was just like, "You're not doing anything anyway Dawn, watch these kids." Omg that irked me. And the baby had colic! Wtf?! No wonder Dawn didn't like Carol. I don't recall this chapter at all. I didn't really pile the Rodowsky chapter, either. Wasn't there enough baby-sitting in Sea City? Other than that, I liked this one. Sea City does sound really fun. I always want ice cream after reading a Sea City book. Also, I don't care if it's family owned, I think working that young should me illegal (yet I'm a Bob's Burgers fan, oh well). There's plenty of time in adulthood to be thrown into the mundane, boring world of working. Baby-sitting is different because that's their choice (well, aside from Dawn's chapter, which still pisses me off). In a way, this book is a little shocking. Mary Anne likes Alex when she's still with Logan! Omg. I'm not sure why, but this feels adult for the BSC. Maybe I'm thinking too much into it. I don't even like MA and Logan that much as a couple other than the first 10 or so books they're together. I definitely prefer Alex tbh (even though I read Sea City Here We Come recently, I don't remember how he was in that book. It's my least favorite Super Special. But maybe next reread I'll change my mind about Alex, who knows). Stacey is very bitchy in this book, but honestly, it's kind of realistic for a 13 year old. Have to say though, it's no wonder she was my least favorite back in the day (not sure who my least favorite is now). Vanessa was bold af in this book. I liked her bond with Mary Anne. Not bad overall.
