^^That's one of my favorite reasons why I love the pairing of MA/Logan. The shy girl gets her man for once. There aren't a lot of stories that are like that. I guess Ann could have made it to be like Mary Anne was in love with Logan and he didn't like her back...but she kept pestering him and/or pined for him. I think it would have been very interesting if they had made it to be where he liked/dated the popular girls (Stacey, Claudia, Cokie, ect) and Mary Anne had to deal wth that. Now, that would have been interesting to see.

Forgot to add this in my previous post. About the MA/L relationship being a stretch. I think it is and it isn't. To me, it is kind of a stretch in the aspect of the guy picking the shy/quiet girl over the cool/outspoken one. I think that, in regards to regular 13 year old guys (esp now days), that would be considered a stretch. On the other hand, I don't really think it's a stretch at all when you think about Mary Anne's personality. She's not superficial or stuck up. I think that really made Logan like her and appreciate her.

^^he always mentions the make up/smile thing in his books. I think he mentioned that he just couldn't keep his eyes off her because of her smile or something in the "Babysitters Remember" one.
Has anyone ever wondered if they'd ever meet a guy like Logan? I remember when I was starting the 8th grade, I kept thinking I'd find my Logan (even though I didn't -and still really don't-have an intrest in having a boyfriend).

I was totally waiting for my Logan when I was in junior high school! I couldn't understand why all the boys at my school were so immature and lame while Logan was renting carriages to take Mary Anne home in when she got back from vacation.

I've always wondered how much that bracelet he bought Mary Anne for her birthday cost? I'm assuming not too too much- being sterling silver....but, still, for a 13 yr old boy, that would seem like a lot. Unless I'm totally not thinking about how much SS is. I'm so tired today. Geni

^ I think it is around 20 bucks. I remember having something like that once, but I'm probably mistaken.
Edit: Oh wait, I remember it now, the necklace I was referring to did not cost 20 bucks, it was around 3 bucks.

A 13 yr old girl would be impressed with a bracelet no matter how much it cost... ha, I'm sure it wasn't fine jewellery.

I was thinking that would still be considered a lot to give to a girl you really have only "gone out" with once or twice. I loved how sweet he was when she got Tigger and gave her the present though. I'm sure most guys would be kind of upset if the girl they liked ran out on her own birthday party without opening their present.

I just reread this and found a very disturbing passage. After agreeing to meet at the BSC's next meeting, Logan "unfolded his legs from underneath the cafeteria table" and went back to his table. That description of him getting up sounded a little dirty. And it was sweet ol' MA narrating the book, hmmm.

I'm not a huge Logan fan, probably because I just don't like jock guys in general. Although now that I am thinking about it, Logan kind of sounds like Wally Cleaver--you know, three season varsity sports star and all that--and I've always thought Wally was a cutie.
After this book I think MA and Logan progress in their relationship with no real explanation. All of the sudden, he's MA's extra-special super duper boyfriend and they say "i love you" to each other on the phone, which is TOTALLY WEIRD for 13-year-olds. This book is adorable, but from here on out MA and Logan are just too much couple for me.
And I totally thought I would find my Logan in the eighth grade, too. But then again I also thought I'd have a big group of female friends.

Wasn't he too tall for the table? But that description sounds like his legs were crossed girly style. Hee.
