Haha Kristy's ideas for the radio show were so appalling! There's that really cheesy one where Buddy gets mud all over Suzi and Kristy starts emphasising words that she thought were "educational" (TELL them in a GENTLE but FIRM way... heh heh kids will be kids... did YOU get the MARKER stains off the WALL Taylor), which Taylor just responds with, "Why are you talking so weird Kristy?" Hehe Then she stole Mallory's Oogly beast story and made it sound so utterly crap that you feel sorry for Mallory and she starts doubting herself - "Mallory realised that her creation seemed kind of stupid." Then her abysmal, cheesy idea of "Marilyn, Carolyn, Kristy and the Major League Mystery" where one of the players is missing and they have to find him... and the twins stare at her and say "That's pretty stupid." Indeed so ;D

I have this file on my computer that I sort of forgot about titled something like kristysworstideas.txt where I was listing some of Kristy's ideas that sucked. I don't remember this book very well, but clearly I'll have to add all her radio show ideas to my list.

I just remembered there's another Alan Gray moment I love in this book; he auditions for the show under the name "Oswald McBelch" and wears a skull cap.

^ That one was great! I love Alan anyway and that really made me laugh. I remember even leaving the book open so my mom could read it and she thought it was hilarious, too (for some reason, she thinks that burping is really funny- don't ask. She'd love reading about the Pike boys' table manners ;D) As for this book, it's been a while since I read but I remember Kristy bugging me with her obsession with being part of the show (though it sounds like something I would do ;D). It seems like she kind of pushes the kids into the performances, from what I remember, but I'd better reread before I comment more. Isn't this the one where Claud wears two pairs of pants cut apart and sewn back together? One of her worst outfits in my opinion.

This is actually one of my favourites. When I was really, really young, I wrote a letter to Ann, saying how much I loved her books. I also suggested she write a book in which Karen gets her own radio show, and her friends are jealous. When this book came out, I was convinced that Ann had gotten the idea for the book from me! I was also convinced that Ann would dedicate it to me. I was so sad when I realized that it wasn't .

I liked this book. The whole bit with Kristy auditioning a zillion times was so funny. ;D I love the part where Kristy is auditioning and she keeps banging her sneakers on the table for "footsteps" and she's getting dried mud all over the table. If I was Claudia I would have told her to quit it.

^ For some reason, Kristy really annoyed me in this one. But I do remember that some of her attempts were pretty funny. Weren't the Rowdowsky boys involved in one? I really like this one but haven't read for a while so can't remember much more about it. I always like books like this one and Claud and the Perfect Boy where she is actually successful at something other than artwork. Shows that she can be very capable if she tries.

I haven't read this one in awhile. I work in radio so it was interesting to read a BSC book about a radio station (which, from what I recall, didn't seem very realistic, but I suppose it was about as realistic as you could expect for a station that would hire 13 year olds -- and for only a month ...)

I really liked the Claud and Ash interaction in this one. Although I didn't like how Claud was suspicious and wondered if Ashley was up to "old tricks." The way Claud described it Ashley was solely responsible for the drama in #12. I don't believe Ash held a gun to Claud's head IIRC. If I think of Ashley's change in character as her growing I like how Ash has changed. At least Claud acknowledged the difference in Ash's character with some comment like "maybe she's learning there's more to life than art" or something.
Kristy was funny and annoying at the same time. She almost forced the kids to participate. Mallory should've stood up for herself and her story. Her creation wasn't stupid it was creative, at least the way she told it.
They had to have something about Stacey in this book. They had to keep that story arch in the readers minds, to keep them wondering.
Overall, I really liked this book. I loved how the girls got hooked and didn't want the show to end. It sounded like a great show for kids. I doubt that many kids listen to radio anymore anyway. It would've been more fun (and more unlikely) to have the girls host a tv show maybe on public access or something.

I liked Ashley in this one, too. At least a lot more than in New Girl. She seemed less "focused". I also found Kristy annoying. Didn't realize they didn't mention Stacey but you're right that they should of. Don't they usually in the books she's not in? Maybe they had considered totally writing her out? I liked it in this book how Claudia found something she was good at. Same thing with Perfect Boy. These are examples of why I think she is a lot smarter than she gives herself credit for being and could do better in school if she would just put forth a little effort.

Stacey WAS mentioned in this book a few times. Claud and Stacey talk on the phone at the end and nothing really happens. What I meant was that the writers HAD to mention Stacey so that they could remind the readers about the whole Stacey gets kicked out story arch.

^ Sorry, I misread your post ;D As I said in another one, I'm working on too little sleep and too much stress (which is why I need to get off here ;D) Anyway, glad they mentioned her. Thanks for correcting me. Sorry again for my "Claudia moment" ;D

Okay just finished reading this one. Some thoughts: Okay end made me cry with STacey callign Claud... (but at the radio station?). I cry too easily. I'm a sucker. Jackie's jokes made me laugh. I told them to my friend as I was reading it adn she just gave me this "wtf" look. I liked Ashley in this one too. She was just so...annoying in #12. (i still love that book though.) I like when characters are...nicer... warm fuzziness!!! Claud mentions that mal looks older than 11... since when? (Other than on the covers of hte books of course..... maybe a reference to that?
