I've had this thought as you are posting all these covers - whoever this artist is, they can't do Asians. Claudia could be any number of ethnicities here but I'm not seeing Japanese.
I like how they changed the title so it didn't have an American call sign in it.

I agree. Claudia doesn't look Japanese in any of these illustrations.
The only thing I remember from this book is Kristy dragging their charges to the radio station to have them on air and get publicity for the BSC. Girl has no shame

This one was actually pretty good! I think it was cool to have Claudia branch out and it makes sense that she'd be feeling a little down after Stacey left.
Even though I liked it, I don't really have much to say. I think the call-in show was actually the best idea. I liked that Ashley made an appearance here, but she didn't feel like Ashley at all. There was no explanation for her change in behavior. I miss her hippie clothes! Despite this, I don't think she and Claudia work that well as friends. Ashley is too serious and critical. She is now lighthearted here, though. I can imagine them possibly being art class buddies.
Kristy annoyed me. Somehow I think when Lerangis writes her she comes across as... a little dumber, I hate to say it. The shoes on the table (and dirt flying all over it) just seemed so obnoxious. I was really hoping she WOULDN'T get a show (I begrudgingly think her final idea was good, though).
So the final two chapters have a warm and fuzzy feeling, which I feel like I shouldn't like, but I actually do. Mrs. Hewitt's donation was so nice, Stacey calling to congratulate Claudia was more emotional than I thought, etc. Idk, sometimes I just like happy endings (and am a sucker for friendship themes).

Lerangis-written Kristy definitely had her obnoxious moments.
I love this book…hosting a radio show always sounded super fun.

All I remember about this book is Kristy dragging charges to WSTO to have them on Claudia's radio show so the BSC could get free publicity and Claudia's vintage tuxedo
