Were there ever any books where one of the clients had a crush on their sitter? Obviously not an I Love You infatuation, but just a normal crush that kids get on their teachers and stuff. (Karen had a major girl crush on Ms. Colman IMO.) I can't think of any but it seems like a normal story line to occur.

Buddy possibly had a crush on Mal in "Mallory and the Mystery Diary." He "moved on" to liking Shannon bigtime in Kristy's Mystery Admirer. I really think he had a HUGE crush on Dawn throughout the Series. Shea Rodowsky seemed to semi-like Claudia in a romantic way, at least based on "Claudia's Friend." He, too, (lol, sorry Buddy) moved on to Shannon. I remember in "Stacey and the Mystery at the Mall," when Shannon was doing the bulk of the baby-sitting, her writing about his crush in the Club Notebook. Nicky might have harbored a slight crush on Dawn. For some reason, I almost got the impression, not really even sure why, that possibly Byron, Adam, or Jordan liked Kristy. By the same token, the Pikes' spent so much time with Jessi that it's conceivable (don't ask me why. I'm with you all the way Sparklymouse on Jessi) that one of the Pike boys had a crush on her. In "Stacey and the Stolen Hearts" Mathew Hobart (wasn't it him) was gaga for Mary Anne. In one Little Sister book, Karen was crushing on Bart. Hey this would make for an interesting (at least) subplot to a Super Special. I just posted in that thread so that subject still on my brain. Cool topic.

^Ok, obviously there were lots of crushes that flew over my head. Although I haven't read many mysteries, so that is my semi-excuse for missing some of them.
Before reading your post I was thinking that Stacey, Dawn and Logan would be the most crushed after sitters and it looks like I was right. (Maybe not about Logan, but if he was so nice and hot then why weren't little girls gaga over him?)

^ I've read all the Mysteries and for the most part prefer the regular books.
Lol, about Logan. Too bad Mary Anne did not have a younger sister! Or, since I am re-reading the early books, if neither the Thomases or Spiers had moved and if Watson, Karen, and Andrew had lived on Bradford Court, maybe Karen would have developed a crush on Logan since MA/Kristy were bff and Logan would be around a lot.

I can see why several boys liked Shannon. The other babysitters probably seemed too familiar but they didn't really know Shannon and she likely seemed like a cool older girl. Does that make sense?

^Aw, he did and then she (Stacey) had to go and be a (yikes, I'm going to use a Karen term) meanie mo, by immediately scolding him for picking his mom's flowers in a messy way. Didn't he pull them up by the roots? Poor Jamie.

LOL at Karen and Miss Coleman. So true. She did crush on her majorly. She was always talking about how Ms. Coleman is the best teacher ever, every chance she got (they probably NEVER left that out of any books).
It reminds me of the Degrassi Jr. High (original Canadian series in the 80s) when Caitlin had a crush on Ms. Avery and kept having romantic dreams about her.

I was also thinking that Nicky had a crush on Dawn, zoar. It might have been because she was so sweet to him when he found the secret passage. I can't remember if there were other books. I also remember thinking Buddy had a crush on Dawn. He loved her in The Impossible Three.

^I'm blanking on 1, possibly 2 books. In one, I'm almost positive, Nicky sent Dawn a postcard, signing it "your secret tunnel pal." He also wrote that he hoped the morning she got back to CT, they could explore the passage. There's a second book where Kristy is one of the two Pike-sitters. The Triplets are being particularly nasty to Nicky, so he runs off to the passage. Kristy finds him, they talk, and she reassures him "that Dawn will be back soon." I THINK he actually says he can't wait but that talking with K is almost like his talks with Dawn. Gosh, I really do need to head back to Stoneybrook soon!

"Your secret tunnel pal" sounds way dirtier than it should.

I was just going to ask if that one ever made it to the sexual references thread.

U4me, I've read these books so many times, it's amazing my brain hasn't gone on BSC overload! Thanks, though. Maybe the BSC can keep my (all of our) memories sharp as we get older!

There's a fanfic where Nicky and Dawn hook up. I wonder if it's still out there. The premise is kind of squicky but it was still good.
