Mal gives thorough descriptions in #21 of everything both Arnold girls and their mother are wearing. It astounds me that Mrs. Arnold would actually wear a bow with ducks on it in her hair!
So let's talk about what everyone else wore.

Was it Mrs. Arnold who was called over accessorized by one of the club members? It was either her or Mrs. Prezzioso. I can see Mrs. Arnold with a duck bow in her hair. It's like when Hilary Clinton was rocking the headbands back in the early 90s, lol.

Mrs. Arnold reminded me of the way some of my friends' moms dressed in the 90s/late 80s, and some of my teachers too: poodle-y hair, big bows on blouses, holiday-themed sweaters and jewelry...hehe

It's funny you should mention this, I was just reading The Trouble With Twins last night and I thought to myself "I wish I had someone to discuss Mrs. Arnold's outfit with" lol.
Anyway, in my head, she is very "Umbridge" like, to through an HP reference out there. She has bows in her hair, bows on her sweater, bows on her shoes, bows on her scarf (maybe?).
I would love to picture her like some of my teachers in the early 90s, with the themed sweaters and the big hair and the matchy matchy -ness of it all; but that "look" (if you want to call it that) seems a little too sloppy for Mrs. Arnold. I picture her much more prissy than the average elementary teacher with an appliquéd vest over a themed print turtleneck.

I am a sucker for clothing descriptions. The only other descriptions I'm thinking of right now are the Bad Girls. Black leather, colors in their hair, oh my.

The all blue outfit Grace wore when she was running for president sticks out in my mind, especially her stirrup leggings.

The bad girls also wore a whole lot of plaid.

In Dawn and the Older Boy, Dawn describes Sara's (Travis's gf) outfit as a "white cotton flight suit." So...she was dressed like an astronaut? Oh, and how about when Mrs. Prezzioso chose to wear a cocktail dress to the basketball game in Mary Anne Saves the Day? I bet she got a lot of strange looks.

Depends on the dress. If it had sleeves it wouldn't have looked as odd as one sleeveless.

If it was basic black, it wouldn't stand out as much. But since it was Mrs. P., I imagined it to be sparkly and fancy.
Mr. P. wore jeans and a polo to the game. I remember Mary Anne thinking there must have been some sort of battle over his clothes, and that's why she initially thought Jenny was so quiet that day.

I always thought it was basically black.

How about some Laine outfits? In Stacey's Mistake, her party outfit was all black. Short black dress, black stockings, and black flats. She also had one silver bangle bracelet and a silver squiggle pin. All the other girls, even Stacey, were impressed and thought she was "beyond chic."
In Stacey's Ex-Best Friend, Laine arrived in CT wearing a jean coat with a fur collar, black capri pants with lace edges, "chic" black ankle boots, and a big red beret.
I think her party outfit sounds decent. You can't really go wrong with black. I wear a lot of black, but not head to toe like Laine. I also love black boots. I have a couple of pairs myself.

I used to love getting Laine outfit descriptions since she seemed even cooler than Stacey. From Welcome Back, Stacey:
I pretty much wanted that entire outfit when I was eight, lol.

Laine really loved her bangle bracelets, didn't she?
