I do think Kristy would be less taticful about it and tell everyone
Oh and I can imagine this:
Karen Brewer and Andrew come over for the month and it just so happens Kristy has her first period.
Watson: Kristy is feeling sick, Karen. She needs to rest.
Karen: *thinking to herself: Wow. This was gigundoly sad news. I'll have to go cheer her up. *goes upstairs to put her things down and then busts into Kristy's room*
Kristy: *tired and groggy* Hi Karen.
Karen: *goes on and on about school, Pamela Harding, Ms Colman, etc etc. and then notices Kristy isn't paying attention* KRISTY?
Kristy: *after hearing Karen's going on and on and has little patience, snaps* KAREN BREWER! DON'T YOU EVER SHUT UP? I DONT WANT TO TALK TO YOU! GO BOTHER SAM OR CHARLIE FOR ONCE! AND LEAVE ME ALONE AND STOP BEING A LITTLE BRAT!"
Karen: *thinking* Wow, Kristy is being gigundoly mean. Well boo and bullfrogs.
Next day at school she goes to talk to Hannie and Nancy.
Guess what guys? Kristy is sick. She also yelled at me and told me i was a brat. She also told me to shut up.
Hannie and Nancy are shocked. They agree that Kristy is "gigundoly mean" and school progresses and Karen thinks all day long about the Kristy situation and feels "gigundoly sorry for herself"
Later that afternoon Kristy apologizes to Karen and also talks to Karen about periods and PMS and gives Karen the entire story.
Karen is impressed and then the next day at school she tells EVERYONE before school starts.
Pamela of course hears her and rolls her eyes and says "Its not that big of a deal, Karen Brewer! My sister gets one, and so does my mom. and my sister NEVER yells at me." Karen sticks her tongue out at her.
Ms Colman comes in and seems "tired" to Karen.
Karen waves her hand energetcially and then without waiting, says "Ms Colman, Ms Colman! you seem tired, did you get your period? I hope you took Midol. Midol is very good for your period. My big stepsister Kristy takes Midol. Kristy also uses heat wraps on her stomach to stop the cramping."
Ms Colman is stunned and the rest of the class is worried. "Are you going to yell at us like Karen's stepsister did?" asks Ricky. "My mom yelled at me this morning, I wonder if she has her period" Bobby Gianalli says.
Natalie tries not to cry as she studies her teacher and hopes her teacher isn't going to die
Pamela, Jannie and Leslie roll their eyes and agree with each other that everyone else is babyish and that periods aren't this big a deal.
Ms Colman remedies the situation and before recess has a talk with Karen about private matters.
