I came across two very ironic statements in my recent rereadings. First, near the end of "Dawn on the Coast," she says something to the effect of, "I'm home now and I'll never, ever leave you" to her mother. Well, we all know what happened later, not once but twice. Then, on the 4th page of "Mary Anne's Makeover," she says her friends aren't mean at all. Heh. She should have read a few chapters further before she said that. Can anyone else think of any other moments like that?

^ I can't think of any but know there are some. Dawn's moving dilemmas seem to include most of them but I know Stacey has some in her conflicts with the BSC and I think Claudia has some with school, too. There are several others I know. Now I have to keep my eyes open for these. ;D I do think saying the BSC friends are mean is a bit of a harsh statement but that's more of a topic for that book... I think my take on it is a bit different as I didn't think the BSC was really all that awful (a little rude but not terrible) and MA assumed they were being mean, got defensive and started looking for things they were doing to be mean, and they responded to her defensiveness. Again, just me and my take on that book - another topic. ;D

In Mary Anne Saves the Day, Dawn turns on all these lights in her bedroom, saying that she filled them with high powered bulbs and says "I hope that the wiring in this old place can take it." How ominous, considering her house burns down due to problems with the wiring in the last book

^ That is a very ominous one. I think Great Romance and Family Feud, also maybe Ghost at Dawn's House, mention things about the house being old, too. I'll have to check.

I found it kind of ironic when Stacey was going on and on in Empty House and some of the other books about what a great guy Robert is. He’s so “sensitive”, etc. All I could think is “Andi thought so, too.” ;D

From Jessi's Wish. The girls are hanging out in the barn.
“You guys are so lucky,” [Jessi] said to Dawn and Mary Anne. “How come you don’t live in the barn?”

I notice now every time they mention something about the wiring in Dawn and MA's house. The most recent reference I read was in Saves the Day with how old it was and I also just read another mention of smoke alarms. I doubt these were intentional but must have entered AMM's mind later.

I always have to laugh when Stacey goes on about how wonderful and perfect Robert is. In the latest example – Aloha Baby-Sitters – I really wanted to “warn” her when she said that Robert “isn’t a liar or a cheater” Yeah right! ;D

^ Well, I don't Think so , The Reason is the bsc was only supposed to run 4 books long. So i doubt that AMM Would think That The BSC would run over 10 years! Maybe in the later books ( After book 100) She Did some foreshadowing Intentionally But i think #4 Was waaay Too Early to plan book 131.

Imagine the planning meeting about Stacey's cluelessness....

At the end of Little Miss Stoneybrook...and Dawn, they admit to each other how they deliberately entered charges in the pageant to show what amazing babysitters they were, and Kristy says something along the lines of "Well, we learned something today. Even the best babysitter can't change a kid." How many times after that did they butt in with a family and acted like they knew better about a kid's problems than the kid's own parents?

Knowing the problems isn't the same as changing someone....

In Stacey's Lie, at the end of the book, she says to Claudia something like, "I'll never let a boy come between us again" or "Let's never have a boy come between us again." Well, we all know what happened in Friends Forever.
