First of all, I haven't seen the cards but I understand there actually were trading cards released back in the day. Ignore that fact.
Ok, my question. If trading cards were sold right now, which five characters would you most want to collect? (Picture baseball type cards with the characters' pictures on the front and some info on them on the back.) Any character/pet ever mentioned could have a card made.

1. Kristy (the Queen Bee of the series) 2. Alan Gray (favorite guy) 3. Crystal Light I (it would be a limited edition card, lol) 4. Mr. Tastee (he had the coolest--no pun intended--job around) 5. It's a toss-up between Watson Brewer and Morbidda Destiny. I guess Watson because I bet Morbidda's card would say "Mrs. Porter", and that's no fun. Unless they put out Morbidda and Mrs. Porter cards...

Interesting question, I never knew such things existed. I wonder what type of info was on them? 1. Mimi, my favorite character of them all who had the biggest heart. 2. Kristy, my favorite of the sitters due to her love of kids and dogs. 3. Louie, the sweetest fictional dog ever. I wish he had (healthily) lived. 4. Mr. Staples (SS#1) I always loved the grandfather-like relationship he and Kristy shared. One of my greatest BSC "regrets" is that they never kept in touch. I thought the world of my own grandpa and thought it was awesome that a BSC character was going to have such a person in her life. 5. Sonny, the Collie from "NY! NY!" As some of you know I had a beloved fox terrier named Champ. I know this may sound cheesy but it's completely genuine. I always wished in my heart that Watson and Elizabeth had let Kristy bring Sonny home. I think Kristy saw Sonny as something she could do for Louie--take care of another collie in the way they (K and L) loved one another. I think it was more than wanting a second dog. This sort of thinking is what might allow me to adopt a dog one day, though I confess it would not be a terrier as I don't think I could deal with such a close reminder. I'd actually want a Lab, Golden, or hey, maybe a Collie.

what a great question!
1. my number one would absolutely be mimi. 2. alan or cary. if i could only pick five i wouldn't want them both because they are too much alike, but i can't decide. 3. jackie rodowsky, of course :] 4. cokie mason. i feel like her card would have to be holographic or something. 5. ben brewer.

If you're talking about The Baby-Sitters Club Fun Stickers released by Topps in 1995 with a total of 55 cards to collect, I own all of them. These cards are stickers that contain info of the character on the back and lots f cute original and cover arts with fun facts and trivia games. Now to answer you're question, the five cards of my five favorite characters I'd like to collect are: 1. Mary Anne Spier(My all-time favorite BSC character) 2. Shannon Kilbourne 3. Stacey McGill 4.Claudia Kishi 5.Abby Stevenson Here are the cards I'm talking about: www.ebay.ca/itm/BABYSITTERS-CLUB-1992-TOPPS-BASE-CARD-SET-/330364432483?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4ceb413063

Yes, those were the cards I was talking about. I googled them before I made the thread to see if they were what I thought they were. Now, who would immediately go to your "to trade away" piles when you got them? Mine: 1. Richard Spier 2. Any of the Pike triplets 3. Nancy Dawes

I love that you said Ben Brewer, Oldhickory. I wonder if one side would show his mortal self and the other his "ghost?"
My immediate trade aways would be:
1. Karen 2. Abby 3. Patrick Thomas

Ooh, fun.
I would have to say Stacey--my favorite sitter, Boo-Boo, looking like a meanie-mo, as Karen would say, Mimi--the gentle soul, Cokie--the arch nemesis, and...Sgt. Johnson, because he's a hottie? Dunno...oh, and would trade away Karen and Dawn ;D

1. Boo-Boo. 2. Mary Anne. 3. Mallory. 4. Abby. 5. Morbidda Destiny.
I don't think I would want to trade anyone unless I had multiple copies of that card.

why don't they release some trading cards now? they would seriously make a fortune off of people like us.

The BSC probably isn't as popular now as it was in the 1990's, so they might think that it's not worth it.

why don't they release some trading cards now? they would seriously make a fortune off of people like us. There are trading cards from the 90s. You can find them on ebay. There really aren't THAT many people who are as into the BSC like we are, not enough to justify the cost of production and printing and distribution.

^Ann and Co could make a fortune creating some sort of BSC fan pack for the likes of us though. I still wonder if she even knows about this board. Whoever reads her fanmail does, because I mentioned it. I meant if she personally has ever visited. I think like the books, she made her money and is now quietly enjoying it. I'm glad "we" are "small" in numbers because it makes these boards seem safer and more personable.

I like the books, but I am way too old to be collecting knick-knacky BSC oriented stuff. (Says the girl who bought a stack of NKOTB trading cards a few years ago and hasn't glanced at them since. But I can't get rid of them because they're "collector's items". Sigh.)
