Attractiveness of the BSC

It’s always stated that Stacey and Claudia is the prettiest of the girls, but where do you think the others would fall on the list? If you had to rank them based on how you pictured them, the covers, etc them how would you list them? Or just how would you compare each of them?

I’d put Stacey at the top, she always pulled together nice outfits. Then probably at the bottom Dawn, never struck me as particularly pretty.

Dawn had magic hair. Don't underestimate the power of good hair. The bottom was Mallory based on cover art and the others' inability to squeeze out a complement towards her. Everyone else strikes me as average kids.

The beauty of the BSC books was that even though some of the BSC girls were fashionable, they were not model barbie "beauties" like too many of the Sweet Valley characters were.

Looks in the grand scheme of things were unimportant in the series.

BTW, I never thought that Mallory was "ugly." She had a beautiful shade of red hair.

And I love that so many Stoneybrookers, including Kristy, Claudia, Mary Anne, the Stevenson twins, Charlotte, the Hsus, the Papadikases and countless others had lovely thick dark, dark hair and brown eyes.

I'm glad the girls were not pitted against each other in these little "beauty" comparison games.

What was inside was far more important than what they looked like physically.

Good point on the hair end. Yea mostly are probably average looking.

Many times Dawn was pictured as having striking hair with an average face on covers I think. And of course, there was that wonderful Mary Anne description of her not being “exactly pretty” when she met her. Stacey was always smiling widely on covers and having the time of her life—she was probably the most attractive, had the “je ne sais quois” - don’t know if I spelled that right!

Claudia was probably the most striking. Kristy was probably wholesomely pretty. Poor Mal. Maybe she gets a nose job as an adult and straightens her hair and becomes a knockout. Not that curly hair is any less pretty. I want my curls to come out this summer and just put away my blow dryer and not even bother with it. lol

Several covers don't have Stacey smiling...I think her attractiveness was the same as the other BSC girls...no more and no less.

Mallory's nose is not any larger than Mary Anne's or Stacey's and she definitely needs no nose job.

...today as an adult. Mallory has always been fine as she is...she was never "ugly."

Stoneybrook noses are quite lovely in a unique, special way and are no less attractive than tiny, narrow noses.

I think Claudia, Kristy and Mary Anne were the most striking...all that thick dark straight hair and those dark brown eyes.

Here are Kristy, Mary Anne and Claudia today...
