Because who doesn't want a children's book depressing them? What are some moments that you found particularly sad?
In one of the Halloween books that I read last month Karen was talking about her parents' divorce in a chapter 2. She said the line "I thought we were happy, but I guess we were not." That was so sad to me! I think it was the "we" instead of "they" like she didn't know how to separate her parents' relationship from her and Andrew. It sounds like they didn't fight in front of the kids, so that's a plus. It just struck a chord with my cold, dead divorced kid heart.

My first thought was when Boo-Boo died in Karen's Movie Star. I was not expecting that.

Aww, that happy line is super sad.
I can’t really think of anything. Crystal Light’s death wasn’t really ever sad to me somehow.
