Karen’s Toys. Karen’s movie-going outfit (and cover outfit) was a pair of blue leggings, a white sweater, and a blue and white vest. Now, who wears a vest over a sweater? This vest looked like something that Nannie repurposed out of an old quilt. Karen’s Goldfish. The illustrations in this were really clear. (Sometimes they look like they were drawn in pencil and then erased.) In one pic Karen was wearing what looked like a bowling shirt and jeans with funky random patches on them. (She was trying to shove Emily Jr., the smallest rat ever, down her shirt.) She also wore her epic mourning outfit for 3 days in a row. A black velvet dress, black tights, black Mary Janes, black ribbon in her hair, and a black velvet hat with a veil. Very Mrs. White from Clue.

Karen’s Circus Camp. Karen took a page out of Claudia’s book and got in the mood for the circus by wearing a pink t-shirt, blue shorts, green socks, red sandals, and purple barrettes. Literally the only thing that made me cringe was socks with sandals. The kids had to make their own costumes for the circus exhibition. The girls had to bring in leotards (Karen’s was hot pink), and Karen was going to make a tutu. She planned to make a border of all different colored sequins on the edges and sequin stripes down the sides. She put a big letter K on her chest. At the end she got to be the ringmistress, so she had to wear a black top hat, black tuxedo jacket, black tights, and black ballet slippers. I liked Nannie’s dress/matching jacket combo at her birthday party. Karen looked interesting with her Judy Jetson skirt and funky t-shirt. Karen’s Island Adventure. Nothing special, but Karen wore a light blue shirt, green corduroy jumper, and green and blue striped tights. (Funky!) I really think that Karen should design a tights line someday. She had a pair for every occasion.

Karen’s Birthday graphic novel had some good visuals. Karen’s sweater game was on point. I liked her school party look in the original. (Baggy shirt, red-and-white-stripped skirt, red hair bow, black party shoes.) That turned into this purple sweatsuit with a skirt over the pants and yellow tennies?! I like Karen’s updated yellow party dress more. Lisa downgraded from a black beaded going out for New Year’s type dress to khaki slacks/pantyhose? and a belted yellow top. Some pictures it looks like a dress, some it looks like pants and a sweater.

I can only put 3 attachments per post, and I wanted to show her cute shirts, too. I particularly like the elephant one.

Karen’s Spy Mystery. Karen had a “job interview” with Nancy’s parents because she wanted to be their house sitter when they went out of town. She dressed up in her turquoise party dress, white tights, black party shoes, and turquoise hair ribbon. Lisa said that she looked nice but that Nancy’s parents wouldn’t hire her based on her outfit. Karen then changed into play clothes of shorts, a t-shirt, and sandals. I just have to say that that was terrible advice, Lisa. You should always look nice for an interview. People absolutely get jobs based on their appearances. (And she didn’t get the job, either. Ha! )

Karen’s Good-Bye. Amanda’s aunt, Gayle, was proof that rich people don’t have taste. She had gifted Amanda an itchy orange sweater with short puffy sleeves with bright green squares. Maybe it was homemade? Karen’s good-bye party outfit was white pants, purple-and-white-striped T-shirt, black party shoes, and her favorite purple hair ribbon. I don’t think that the heavy black shoes went with the airy top and pants. Karen’s Snow Princess. Karen wanted a stand-out outfit to wear to the start of the winter carnival so that she would be picked to light the town square up. She picked a yellow turtleneck sweater under a bright red ski jacket. She had a baseball cap that had blinking lights in it from Christmas time. She held a flashlight to wave around. Yes, she was the person who got picked. I like her look on the front cover. She’s wearing a dark navy, shiny puffer jacket with red earmuffs and a flowered scarf that could have come from Nannie’s closet. The scarf is very feminine while the jacket is edgier. It’s a different look than she usually had and makes her look more mature. Her hair looks gorgeous, too. The only thing that I don’t like is the brown mitten that makes her arm look like a chicken wing. Karen's Big Lie. Natalie's posture is killing me, but I like her dress.

Haha oh Natalie. I bet she grew up to be hot and Karen hated her.
