I've always wanted to see New York at Christmastime, due mainly to this book and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. I'd like to be there before Christmas, but it's still cool that I'll be there right afterwards this year.

You'd find you'd like Philadelphia, as well.

"Home Alone 2" always makes me want to go to New York City this time of year as well, as well as this book. I reread this book the other day and I instantly wanted to plan a trip to New York City. If only I could afford it currently, ;D

i really enjoy this book. I felt like, I was in NYC. very kind of Karen, giving her money to the needy.
If, you are in MI. Go to Frankenmuth MI. (During winter time.) They have ice sculptures, at night the town decorates their street, a store called Bronners Christmas Wonderland outside of the store their are lights & decorations, very beautiful at night time. Dont forget to go into the store look at more decorations, look all the Christmas stuff you can buy for Christmas time. Be sure bring your coats, warm clothes, mittens, scarves, & etc...gets cold up their in the winter time. (But the store gets kinda hot. So, you might want short sleeve shirt or thin long shirt.)

I liked reading about Karen's trip to NYC. I liked reading the descriptions of NYC. However, I don't think that Nancy and Hannie would've been so understanding about Karen giving her money to charity in real life.

No one answered me, what was she in trouble for? I was so excited to read this book just before it was released cause of Home Alone 2: Lost in New York and because of New York, New York, but I couldn't find it at all when it was released, so I never read it I loved Christmas books in the LS series, so I was disappointed. The most recent one I read was Karen's Reindeer and it wasn't all that

^ I just read your last post. I don't know what your friend was saying to you but the only time Karen gets in trouble in this book is when Andrew disappears for a few moments while they're on the streets of NYC. Karen goes to look for him, and finds him, and they both get scolded for not staying with Seth & Lisa. It's not really a big deal though because Karen doesn't get that much in trouble (she was trying to help after all).
This was another book I got through Amazon recently. ($6.99 book - thanks shipping!) I liked seeing Maxie again! One thing I noticed is city living (loft/apartment) vs. suburban living (house). Maxie's 7 family members all lived in 3 bedrooms. I know that's not uncommon for NYC but it just stuck out to me.
I loved all of the NYC holiday adventures! It made me want to try roasted chestnuts - I've never had them before!

Now I want to try them, mmmm! What was Maxie like this time? I loved her in Karen's Pen Pal and started hoarding erasers and shells shortly after and wore an outfit that I thought sounded similar to her school picture for mine that year, though I think mine was semi-nerdy in an early 90's fashion

I love thus book, mainly because of the Cheistmas/NY concept, which is, I imagine, the best Christmas place in the world!

I should go one Christmas though I honestly get the busiest at work during the holidays and make more money than most of the year.
