^ Probably. Those would be interesting. I just saw an example in Karen's Puppet Show of Charlie and Sam being less responsible (and more typical for boys their age ;D) - Sam especially. I guess they can't be perfect all of the time. ;D Things like this, I think, add depth to their characters, though, by showing a bit of their "humanity". Sam's pizza did sound totally gross in that book (with everything ;D) but the movie did sound kind of fun (not the actual movie but just going ;D) and they did try to take care of the kids - just didn't do a perfect job. ;D

even parents do it sometimes. ;D like my stepmom is like dawn when it comes to gun toys and won't let my brother have one (even though he turns every possible object into a gun), and my dad bought him one and told him to hide it when his mom was around. ;D

^ ;D Reminds me of the book Karen's Toys. ;D (my least favorite Karen book as I always had toy guns and turned out fine.... ;D)

^that's why my dad does what he does... my brother and i had all the toy weapons we wanted and neither of us turned out violent. ;D my stepmom just won't budge on this issue though.
it's funny because most of our childhood friends are quaker and thus were also not allowed guns, but a couple of years ago my older rother and his friends went to walmart and got bb guns and have a blast shooting cans and bottles in our backyard, because they all wanted them as kids and were never allowed. his friends had to leave theirs at our house though. ;D

^ I was given a bb gun for Christmas once. My dad said that even a girl needed to learn how to shoot. And I didn't turn out violent either but maybe more to because I shot a baby bird, of which made me feel really bad.

^In an incredibly touching Andy Griffith episode, opie kills a mama bird. I cry every time. I think they do the same thing in a Simpsons episode as well.

I always said I was going to "go hunting" but never did. ;D (I was very into the old west as a kid ;D)

I got a small toy BB gun for Christmas when I was in first grade. The first day back to school I put it in my backpack and tried to hold up the bus with it. I got in so much trouble for that.

My dad said no guns. But my grandmother (his mother) let me play with the toy guns she saved from when her kids were little and into westerns. I didn't really care that much though, as I was more of a "let's go outside and see who can stand on their head the longest/turn the most cartwheels kind of a kid. I also liked water ballon fights and water gun fights.

Love the story, Gracie. ;D This reminds me of when I was 4 we got detained at the airport when trying to fly home from Disney because I had a toy gun from Pirates of the Carribean in one of the bags. Fortunately, my uncle from FL was with us and took it home and mailed it to us (it was a tiny pistol ;D) but I was so mad that they wouldn't let me take my gun. ;D It was scary, too, being chased down at the airport. Doesn't that happen to a character in one of the books? I think I like Charlie much better than Sam, though I like Sam more in LS books. His humor is a bit annoying in BSC books.

I loved it in Karen's Easter Parade how Sam dressed up as the Easter Bunny for charity. Another example of Sam being a really sweet guy. ;D
