^I once taught a preschooler named Olivia Grace. I also have liked the named Charlotte and also sort of related Cyndi for Cynthia or better Hiyacythina. I do enjoy thinking about names and if I should ever have kids I just know I would want to be sure they had their own name (no Jr's or II's) but it would be cool (to me anyway to somehow incorporate names or letters in names of people who I really love. Like my Grandma's first name began with a D and my Grandpa's an S so a name that had those letters in it could be neat, that sort of thing. Back on topic, I know all of you know Jamie is my favorite charge. I also think his name Jamie Newton suits his sweet and fun personality. I also like Sari Papadakis. I do like how Jordan and Vanessa Pike sound. As for the BSC members, their names are just so synonymous with each of them that they work. My little brother's first name starts with the initial of his grandfather's name and the middle starts with the initial of my dad's favorite aunt. It's a nice way to honor someone without saddling your kid with someone else's name. I like Sari too because it's like Sarah, but unusual. I don't like Hannie, though, and I've never been able to figure out what Linny stands for.

^I like that, Greer. I have known 2 Hannah's (full name only) in my life both during my college years. I liked the first Hannah better because I remember she would order pizza with some of us in the dorm all the time and she could be nice to talk with. The second Hannah, I more associate with someone else from college who ended up not being the best of people. But I know that is not Hannah2's fault. Linny, I actually read through this thread last night and long ago apparently I had looked it up and maybe it comes from Leandros (Greek name) either that or Lionel, maybe even Linus like in Charlie Brown? I had never heard the name Linny before the BSC. My dentist's assistant/receptionist is a named Lyne (a lady) and I've known Lindas but no Linny boys outside Stoneybrook.

Maybe Ann knew of or heard about someone named Linny and used it...maybe it's not a nickname for anything.

Maybe it's from a last name, like Laura Linney.

Mr. Belvedere was a boy named Lynn. Maybe it's an old fashioned thing.

^Knowing what we know of Ann if Linny is an old fashioned name that would fit. The only other possibility is wasn't Logan's Dad Lyman named after Ann's uncle? Maybe Linny was Lyman's nickname?

I've always assumed that Linny was either just a name or it was short for Lyman.

For some reason I always assumed Linny was short for Lincoln but that doesn't seem like a first name for some reason.

I think Lincoln's becoming a trendy baby name. Was it ever confirmed or denied that Sari was a nickname? I've decided today that the kids were named Linn, Hannah and Sara and the parents liked long "ee" ending nicknames. It just doesn't make sense to give their middle child a "normal" name and the other two "special" ones. Sibling names (I think, anyway) generally have a feel to them like they belong together.

^I don't think Sari was ever referred to as anything but Sari. I believe Hannie was only Hannah once or twice at the most. That is a good point about sibling names. I was thinking about other charge "ee" Buddy, Haley, Emily, Jenny, Melody,Timmy and Charlie, Kristy, Stacey, and even sometimes called by Jamie Claudee. I have actually always liked "ee" ending names and can remember a lot of future kid names I liked having that sound in them. These days I do like Daisy for a girl and Andrew for a boy which lol could eventually be Andy.

Do we know if Mrs. Papadakis is also Greek? Linny seems like a family name to me.
