Love it - wanderingfrog! I see we are actually in agreement on the guys making fun of earring things. I guess I just wasn't sure exactly what Josh said about Ethan's earring as I haven't read that book for a while. I thought it was funny because I can't stand earrings on guys and that was the one thing that always bothered me about Ethan.

Just read Claudia and the Little Liar and thought Josh seemed really sweet but very young - much younger even than Mal and Jessi. Of course, they don't act like real 11 year olds and I try to pretend they are older. Maybe the age difference is what made him feel insecure in Claudia Queen of the Seventh Grade and made him feel like he needed to be a comedian. I think the fact that he seems so young is what makes me have trouble seeing him and Claud as a couple.

^Yeah, he does seem a lot more immature than Claudia and I agree I can't really see them as a couple. That being said, at least he's genuine and honest and an all-around nice guy, as opposed to that jerkwad Mark. Then again, Claud did date Alan Gray (gag!!!!) so maybe maturity isn't something she's necessarily requiring in a guy!

It seems like Claudia never really liked Josh as anything more than a friend and just talked herself into seeing him as a boyfriend to make him happy. I did think he seemed adorable in Claudia Makes Up her Mind but she really didn't seem to like him as a boyfriend, even then. I think he would have been better with someone younger - maybe Mal (though I really like Ben)

That's funny! I never thought of it but imagine how mad Claudia would be. And Mallory isn't the "stunning" one which is how Claudia and Stacey (who also tend to think they are so cool) are often described. What's to say all guys go for looks?

Josh looks cute on the cover of Claudia Makes Up Her Mind. Looking at Claud all dreamily, hehe.

Was I the only one getting gay vibes from Josh Rocker? Maybe I'm crazy though.

You definitely aren't the only one
I play him at an rp where he's going into his senior year, and he's gay now.

I actually didn't get any gay vibes from him, but maybe that's just me. I liked Josh. He was the most realistic boyfriend anyone in the BSC has had. He's cute, but not super sexy, gorgeous McDreamy. He tells jokes, but most of them are terrible. He just seems...normal to me. It's a nice change from the oh-so-perfect Logan, or the sophisticated, artistic, older guy with *gasp!* an earring, like Ethan. I don't think Josh and Claudia were necessarily a good couple, but I like him a lot.

^ I didn't get gay vibes either - just "nice guy" vibes ;D Also liked Josh but don't see him with Claud. I didn't see Logan as perfect, though. He could be a jerk and overbearing - realistic ;D

Maybe Claudia thought she should date Josh because she realized how sweet and caring he was and how much he liked her, but then eventually she realized just because she thought she should go out with him didn't mean she was actually attracted to him.

^ I think that was the case, too. He just seemed too young (or maybe too mature ;D) for her.

^ Oh, I so agree with the mature thing but have nothing further to say about it.

And sometimes people confuse a great friendship with a great love.
