So, I read Stacey's Secret Friend last night and Clarence King was a complete jerk! Wow, he was so mean to Tess...so was Alan Gray, but I got the impression the whole Hog Heaven thing was his idea. What a sociopath. I think I remember reading that CK was friends with Carey Retlin and the Mischief Knights, but I haven't read that book in forever, so I could be wrong. Even though he was really cruel, I found him to be a pretty realistic description of a popular guy who likes to play pranks on people for the sole purpose of humiliating them, as sad and depressing as that is.
Anyway, this is the only book where CK was a major part of the book that I've read, so I was wondering what other people think of him.

Yeah, CK is in both (read the ebooks this afternoon). But he's not nearly as mean to Logan as he is to Tess in Stacey's Secret Friend, IMO.
He is a jerk, that's putting it mildly!

^I agree, too. He gave Logan such a hard time about baby-sitting, as well as Logan's slip-up at the track meet.

I don't understand why is is all "Ugh, Logan, why do you want to hang out with girls?" I mean, they are in 8th grade. It's time to get over the girls have cooties thing and be more like "dude, logan, how do you get so much (snip)"

All I can think of when I think of him is all the other guys going, "Cram it, King!" every time he opened his big mouth to make a snarky comment at Logan in Logan's Story.

I agree with everyone. I think Clarence is a jerk and I don't like him in any of the books that he appears in.
