She might have but there's no indication that Karen ever said "hey do you know my stepbrother, David Michael?" So Addie may have had no idea who Karen's stepbrother was and thus wouldn't have mentioned knowing him.
It's just one of those things I wonder about because there were not many seven-year olds in the BSC clients, but there were a ton of eight-year olds. I feel like there were probably two classes per grade at SES but it could have been more.

^I agree Scrounge and in general wish we had gotten to read more about David Michael. I was so happy he did enjoy Play by Play at SES because it didn't sound like otherwise school was always positive for him. I'm trying to think who else was 7 and Margo (who DM liked in the LS book where the kids put on an ice skating show to raise money and Karen got angry at Hannie for not liking DM when he at first had a crush on her--I'm not remembering the book right now...maybe Secret Valentine)? Jackie Rodowsky is 7 and I meant to post this in the Arnold thread but so were Marilyn and Carolyn until they turned 8. I think they were the only characters who had a birthday, aged, but then it was never mentioned their moving into a new grade. Two classes, and I know this is totally off topic for this but I always thought KIMCC were in 2A and Mr. Berger was 2B. In one LS I read not that long agao there was a mistake and Karen said she was in 2B, still Ms. Colman just wrong room. I know one time for the portraits we made a list of each sitters early teachers and how they varied by who was narrating. I think there were 2 classes for SES then. I believe during my own elementary school years there were 2 classes because in 5th grade I wished I had had the self esteem to request transfer into the other class. I wonder if DM could have tried that at SES (I just thought of that right now) before being moved to a totally new school in Stoneybrook Academy. Something new Stoneybrook to think about on this sunny Tuesday, thanks Wenonah and Scrounge.

I found this book really offensive. Karen treated Addie like she was really stupid. Ms Coleman told the class there was nothing wrong with her brain, just her legs. Karen goes overboard like she always does.

This book was more interesting when I read it like a horror movie. There was a lot of obsessed stalking going on. Chills. I don’t recall ever hearing from Addie’s actual helper, Miss Penn, again.
The thought of 16 people living in one house makes my skin crawl. I would have been so perturbed if I showed up and two kids were already living in my room. I felt for Karen when she grabbed her stuff and crashed on the playroom couch. (Boo Boo slept on her belly!) I cringed when the girls made up and started rotating who slept in the bed. I don’t like my sheets smelling like other people.
I laughed at Karen’s classmates’ weekend plans. They kept getting weirder. Addie was going to the mall with her friends from her old school. (Including her bestie, Barbara. “Barbie”) Totally normal. Pamela, Jannie, and Leslie were going skating. Normal. Bobby was going to his cousin’s birthday party and was given a +1 on the invite. (Ricky, haha. I assume the cousin was older and Bobby was going to be bored alone?) Terri and Tammy invited Natalie over for a spaghetti feast. That is so strange but also something I would want to do more than any party these kids have ever had. Later they told Addie that she could come over the next time they have a spaghetti feast. That’s literally what they called it, and they did it regularly.
Karen called Ricky a packrat because his desk was so messy. Ricky Torres, future hoarder.
