Intersting way to make Addie's school situation relate to Karen's home situation.

Yeah I really enjoyed the parallels too though I found all those cousins of the Thomases soooo annoying! They were just as bad as Jamie Newton's cousins

This part cracked me up...it's when all the kids are wondering about Ms. Colman's fiance and what he does:
I love how the boys are thinking adventurous, and then Natalie's like "he might be a mail carrier!"
Terri and Tammy invite Natalie to their house for spaghetti in this book; it seems like Natalie's permanent role is class outcast, so it was nice to see some kids being friendly to her for a change.

I thought it was sweet how Karen wanted to be Addie's helper, and I know she had good intentions. But it makes me laugh because there seems to ALWAYS be the Karen type "do-gooder" in every class.
Also, it looks like Addie has a keyboard or something on the cover? But that's never mentioned in the book. From reading the book, I was given the impression that she talks (and writes) fine.

^ I would say that Addie has a book rather than a keyboard since Addie read outside. It's just that the book is lying down on the front cover. I thought Karen had good intentions but she was overbearing. She acted like Addie couldn't do anything for herself. But I did feel sorry for Karen when she got treated the same way she treated Addie.

Yeah, I think it was a book...haven't seen this cover in awhile. It was one of my favorite LS covers, a cute playground scene, Karen looks cute, and I thought Addie was really pretty as a kid, I loved the ribbon in her hair This was actually one of my favorite LS books, come to think of it. I really liked the winter feel.

One reason I am enjoying reading some LS books is getting surprises from BSC stories. In this one, of course, appeared the Millers. In Kristy's Big Day, she tells us how close she is to her Aunt Colleen. I know this was a Karen book but I was still disappointed that there was no interaction really between the Millers and TB's outside of the tension between Karen, Ashley, and Grace. I also have to agree with Bobby groaning over the very un-even # of boys to girls in Ms. Colman's class.
Addie Audrey Hannie Jannie Karen Leslie Nancy Natalie Pamela Sara Tammy Terri
Bobby Chris Hank Ian Omar Ricky
Addie herself, I admit to not being attached to one way or another. I liked the KIMCC small, easier to keep track of. I was glad her class-mates began treating her as a regular person who just happened to use a wheelchair.
ETA: I had forgotten Natalie. So there are 12 girls and 6 boys in Karen's class.

I've noticed the boy/girl numbers before. We hear a lot about Karen with Ricky and Bobby but I'd like to see more of her with Hank. In one book, Karen mentions how she will make a Valentine for all the girls plus Hank (and not Ricky and Bobby who she considered pests). But we don't see them interacting too much in the series.

I liked Hank in the spelling bee KIMCC book. Ian was all right too in "Snow Wars." I do admit to liking Bobby a lot just because I think at heart, he had a good one. He always played with Alicia, stood up for her, and he sure loved the mouse Harriet. Wow, that is un-even, Sarish. I feel badly for those 4 girls more than the 6 boys in Karen's class. I hope they are good friends and that at least some of the little boys treat them well. I remember in my 2's class I had 4 boys and 3 girls. 2 of the boys were twins and one of the other boys, Peter, had a huge crush on me at the time and would get so jealous when I gave attention to the more outgoing twin. Peter did not like him at all. Peter was very sweetly protective at times of Stella the little girl who sometimes got pushed around. I thought they'd make a cute couple (when older, of course)!

Supprazz, Ian was also in Ms. Colman's class. His "book" was "Snow War."
Greer, I believe DM very briefly transfers to SA in "Karen's Big Fight." I have not read that book but recently read through the thread on it.
