Mary Anne has always been one of my favorites. There were moments when she got on my nerves, but all of the girls did that from time to time. I also liked Dawn and Stacey.

This is totally random (and lame) but I just at this moment realized that Kristy' Innitials spell my (real) name. That may just be the highlight of my day.

It's a shame they never tried to freak out Kristy with her own rules. They should have all gotten to a meeting early and changed Claudia's clock. Then Kristy would walk in at "5:40" or something with someone else sitting in the director's chair and everyone giving her Looks. LOL I can just picture that! That would be hilarious. Kristy was definitely more likable in her own books. At least we got a better understanding of how her mind worked and why she did what she did.

Just realized today would be Kristy's 33rd birthday if the BSC had ever been alllowed to age.

^ Wow! That's strange to imagine the BSC that age.

It is really a strange thought. Maybe now I don't feel so old ;D Happy Birthday Kristy! A reason to celebrate today ;D

I'm reading Kristy and the Cat Burgler and in the first two chapters Kristy makes two remarks that may be her interest in boys perking up: first she says that being around Cary Retlin makes her feel "ackward" then she says the Sergeant Johnson has the "clearest, bluest eyes" shes "every seen."
Just had a thought. Kristy spent most of her young childhood being close to her brothers so she grew up knowing what boys are "really" like, plus there's no mention of Elizabeth dating anyone prior to Watson so Kristy's mom set an example that boys aren't a priority, plus Patrick walked out on her. So even though these things have been said before, putting it all together it doesn't seem surprising that Kristy wouldn't be interested in boys before her hormones wouldn't let her deny it anymore. (That last part for some reason seems icky to me.)

^I've always thought part of the reason Kristy was such a tomboy was because she grew up around her brothers.

^ Totally agree about growing up with brothers. You see that a lot. Also because I get the impression that Charlie was the one Kristy was around most since her mom was always working and busy. But I guess she was a tomboy from birth according to Kristy's Book.

I also think part of why Kristy feels so awkward when she realizes she thinks a boy is cute (or if he thinks she is), and when she dresses up, is because everyone, her brothers AND friends, give her so much grief for it. I get the feeling she thinks looking girly isn't so bad because it makes her feel special and pretty, but doesn't do it so often because even her friends are like "OMG what are you wearing is that you Kristy??" when she tries to fix up.

^ I never thought of this but I agree. They make a much bigger deal when Kristy does wear something girly but maybe that makes her feel even more special on the rare occasions when she does it and then gives her more motivation to do it for special occasions (if that makes sense)

^I agree. Remember when she was excited about being a bridesmaid in Elizabeth and Watson's wedding and Sam (I think) said something along the lines of "Since when do you care about long, flowing dresses?" ;D

I was just watching What Not To Wear and thought about how Kristy would be a great candidate for this show (in Stacey and Clinton's eyes) because of her "uniform". I can see them throwing her collie cap away immediately. And the turtlenecks. Oh my, the turtlenecks...
for some reason kristy also strikes me as the type to wear "mom jeans"
