Mmm I am the oldest sibling in my family, but I also liked when older neighbours family friends etc did nice things for me and my siblings.

Janine for sure. She puts up with so much crap from those girls (especially Claudia, but they all tend to be pretty rude to her, always running past her room so they don't have to stop and say hello, etc. : , but she's always willing to help them out when they need it. Plus she does cute things like wearing lots of blue eyeshadow and orange blush when she wants to impress whats-his-face.

And she says stuff to make Claudia feel better too, sometimes.

Oh yeah, I love how Janine was also secretly hiding candy in her room. I'd forgotten about that!

I deliberated for a long time between Janine and Charlie. I love both of them. I just reread Dawn's Wicked Stepsister and I'm going to pick Charlie. During that chapter where Kristy and Jessi sit for the entire Pike family poor Charlie ends up dropping the girls off and they call him back. He goes to the grocery store for Mr. and Mrs. Pike. When he gets back he even helps the girls cook dinner for the whole family. How many teenage boys would do that for their little sister?

Oh god I hated that part, lyricalangel! Charlie was VERY nice to do that, but geez the stupid Pikes... argh. I can see why everybody likes Charlie so much, but he always just seemed a little off to me. I think it's weird how much time he spends doing things for his little sister and her friends. I'm sure that's a nice quality for a sibling to have, though.

^ I forgot about Charlie cooking. That was so sweet. I think he did so much for Kristy because he had been forced into the "father" role of the family and grew up way faster than most teenage boys.

I just couldn't believe he would do all that. I don't think I would be that nice. Lol. I probably would have told Mr. Pike to get out of bed.

^ ;D I might have been that nice to someone else's family but probably wouldn't have done it for my own ;D

I absolutely agree with hitzpink. I always found it much more odd that Charlie did all this than I found it to be endearing. To me it signified he had no life.

^Well, he had girlfriends. Sometimes Charlie's level of involvement could be weird, but I generally thought it was really nice of him to help out Kristy and the BSC so much. However...the Junk Bucket always seemed so unsafe

^ What kind of car was the junk bucket, anyway? I remember it mentioning him getting it in one of the books but don't even remember what book. Or was it a LS book? I know David Michael was mad because he wasn't home and didn't get a ride but that's all I remember.

Hm, don't remember what kind it was. I think the book he got it in was Mary Anne and the Great Romance, but I'm not totally sure.
ETA: Just checked the CG, and I was right! #30. It says the car is "sort of gray, fenders rusting, scratches, dents."
