I think Logan and Kristy have too much in common to be boy-friend/girl-friend. They'd be so bored.

Why is having a lot of stuff in common boring?

It's not necessarily boring, but I know that guy friends and I have run out of things to talk about because we like the same things. Also, I think they might have a problem with Logan's controlling habit.

Spend enough time with someone and chances are you'll run out of stuff to talk about. That's why it's important for couples to maintain lives outside of the relationship as well.

That's true, I guess. It's funny...I have this really good guy friend and we go on for hours in e-mails, but as soon as we're together we have nothing to talk about.

What do they have in common? They both like baseball and Mary Anne. I don't see that many other similarities in them.

Pretty much.
They have sports in common, but that's it. I suppose it could be assumed that they may enjoy the same movies and t.v. shows, but that's not anything to build a relationship on. Mainly it's all sports.
I think Kristy and Logan could grow to be good friends, but a romantic relationship would never work. Kristy wouldn't want a pushover, but a pushover is exactly what Logan's looking for. I think that's largely why he liked Mary Anne. He could control her, boss her around, and dominate the relationship. He wants a fan, not a girlfriend. And I think that he takes the attitude of "you let me take advantage of you" to deflect blame from himself and onto Mary Anne. That would not fly with Kristy. She'd punch him in the mouth.
I do not like Logan.

I also hate Logan. Logan is really vanilla. Even before he turned into a control freak I disliked him. I also think that Kristy is far too loyal a friend to ever date a friend's ex.

Definitely. She would never upset Mary Anne like that. Plus, she'd remember how Logan treated Mary Anne and would be like, no thanks!
I imagine Kristy with someone who has a lot of personality. Logan is dull. I'm not a fan of Kristy with Alan Gray or Cary Retlin either, mostly because I'm not crazy about either character. I see Kristy with someone more like Sam. Not actually with Sam obviously because that would be gross. But someone a lot like him. Maybe Sam has a friend?

Well, in the beginning, Alan Grey was like Sam. He was goofy and off beat and a little dorky, but overall seemed like an okay guy.
Logan sucks. He was so modeled on the older brother on Leave it to Beaver. The All American Guy who is good a sport and likes girls who worship him.

Ha, I like Wally. I don't think the latter is true about Wally; he tended to be really awkward around girls.

I like Wally, too. I don't think he would know what to do with someone who worshiped him. He'd probably say something to the extent of, "Can't you act normal?" and offend her and then wonder what he did wrong.

Ooh, Wally's girlfriend's name was Mary Ellen. Maybe all those I Love Lucy references were just to throw us off of Ann's true love. Wally and the Beav.

I know this is going to sound strange, but I think Logan wouldn't want to date Kristy because she wasn't exactly feminine. Logan strikes me as almost the sterotypical jock in the babysitters club books(almost, thought I think he is supposed to be portrayed that way). I think Mary-Anne would have jumped for the chance to be a "cheerleader" but way way too insecure to do so. Kristy on the other hand was just as athletic as Logan, and I find her to be a role model for girls this way. Not the sterotypical girl who needs to be saved type thing. Logan and her would have been too alike in some respects, too controlling esspecially. I remember how he ordered food for MA without even asking, and how Kristy told MA to shut up all the time when she cried. In an Utopia it might of worked, but in Stoneybrook, not in the slightest!

I can't see them together. I don't see Kristy dating an ex of one of her friends and I don't see the relationship working because of their personalities.
