Time to confess , How many times have you guys read through the series? I finally read through all the regular, Mystery (except for 2 illusive ones I can't find), SM, and SS, a couple months ago. I have to admit to feeling letdown upon finishing the "Fire at MA's House," knowing only the FF's were left. I went to all the "trouble" of trying to read them in "order" (Lol, I know there really is no true order for the books as Ann and the Ghostwriter's were very "creative" about times and years, but I tried), and honestly felt sad that that was all there was to them. Now that I've discovered these wonderful boards, guess I'll have to start over. ;D. Mona

I haven't re-read the whole series, I'm still collecting, and there are many I haven't read once. That said, I have re-read many of the older ones heaps of times

I would have to say countless. There are a few books I've only read once or twice, ones that I got last year as opposed to at age 6, but I truly can't count how many times I've read a lot of the early ones. Enough times that I can actually recite full chapters of some.

Yeah, definitely countless, except for ones I didn't care for and only reread a couple of times.

Same here. Sometimes I confess to also skipping over long Dawn or Abby scenes.

I haven't really kept track on the BSC, but I've read the ls series 2-3 times.

I have no idea but I've read Kristy's Great Idea at least 20 times.

I am no where near a complete collection.. There are some I own that I am yet to even glimpse inside tbh, as I've bought them between reading all the ones I had first, then buying another bundle and deciding to read all the ones I have so far in order.
My originals from childhood though, when I decided I was into bsc again I read the same 4 over, and over and over to the point where when I'm up to one of them now, I'm tempted to skip it because I just constantly know what's next, virtually word for word.

Was anyone discouraged from rereading them? My mom didn't care that I read them, but we had a small fight every month when I wanted to buy the newest book. In her mind nobody should ever want to read or watch something more than once.

The elementary school librarian didn't like when we took the same book out more than once, and she wasn't fond of the BSC in general (kind of like Mrs. Kishi and Nancy Drew.) I think I drove her nuts by wanting to take out Babysitters on Board so many times in one year.

My mom never had a problem with reading them. She was happy I was reading because many kids my age didn't like to read.

I was never discouraged from reading the books. My mom was the one that got me started with it in the first place! She spotted Kristy's Great Idea at the library, handed it to me, and I became obsessed quickly. I got a lot of them from book orders at school, or mom would pick up the latest copy when she was out grocery shopping.

I was never discouraged from reading them when I was younger, but I've gotten a few funny looks from my mom when I've mentioned being into them again as an adult. She was pretty happy for me when I finally got the last two books I needed to complete my collection, though. As for how many times I've reread...I don't know. There are some I've read many, many times, and some I've only read once. There have also been times when I've skipped chapter 2 and the sitting parts to get to the good stuff (makeovers, mall trips, and boys, usually). I don't know if those really count as rereads...

I wasn't discouraged from reading them until I was around the 5th grade and that was because they were too easy for me. Total pet peeve of mine, just because kids have high reading levels doesn't mean they are automatically interested in reading the topics of high school age books. It was reading the same book more than once that was discouraged, but my mom is weird like that. She's the same way with watching movies again or reruns on TV.

My mom always watches stuff over and over because she forgets the ending, and I do too. ;D
My mom teased me, but I always read other stuff too. Maybe I'd be a lot more smarter now though if I had the BSC space of my brain dedicated to something else, like oh, science for example.
