I know (and love) that most of the BSC books had either their true humorous moments or those made so when us fans had a laugh at either a character taking forever to "get" something (like in a mystery) or when Elvira the goat did her stuff in Stacey's Choice. Since I'll be soon enduring a root canal, could use to re-read some of the lighter/funnier BSC books. Any recs?

Little Miss Stoneybrook... and Dawn is pretty funny. So is Claudia and the Great Search.

Agree about Little Miss! That's one of my favorites. I also think Genius of Elm Street is really funny.

Little Miss Stoneybrook is funny, but it's also really depressing. Don't read the Jeff parts if you want humor. I think a lot of Claudia books are funny. They're usually not supposed to be, but that's ok. For example, the Middle School Mystery when she's trying to catch Shawna cheating.

I thought the pranks Maria and Tiffany pulled on Shannon were pretty funny in Kristy and the Sister War.

There is a really funny quote in FF Everything Changes, where Abby drops out of the BSC, and Kristy says, "How could she anybody's friend? She's a traitor, a wimp, a bad sport, and extremely lazy" It was so funny!! Because that DOESN"T sound like anything Kristy would even say!! LOL! Also, I liked Mallory's Christmas Wish only because she had a grandpa at a "home" and had a roomate that he fussed with. My grandpa lived at "home" for a few years until he died and he also fussed with his roomate. OK I think this was only mentioned at the end but, still I thought it was REALLY funny!

guineagirl, that Kristy/Abby thing is really funny...you know Kristy had just been bottling that stuff up ;D And I loved Mallory's Uncle Joe and his roommate...Uncle Joe blasted MTV to get him out of the room, and asked the Pikes to send him pictures of them to plaster all over his walls. Hahaha I thought that was just hilarious!

I don't know. I thought that Mary Anne & Miss Priss was pretty funny with how Jenny was a flop in the modeling industry at age four, as if she already went through an entire career by that age.
