I didn't mind Jessi's wish. My least favorite is Kristy and the Dirty Diapers.

I actually love Jessi's Wish. To each his own, but just out of curiousity, what does everyone hate about it?

I like Jessi's Wish too, aln. I know it's factually inaccurate and there's no sitting or BSC drama. But I still like it, for some reason.

I think I liked it when I first read it eons ago, but I haven't felt compelled to re-read it. I have a low tolerance for "do-gooding" though and the whole "saintly sick kid" thing so I'm wary about it.

^ the saintly sick kid is definitely annoying, i didn't even think of that. it's just BORING. a girl has leukemia and a BSC member gets overly, almost creepily attached to some kid (yes i know this is a special case, but you can't deny this happens. it drives me crazy how they're constantly using their spare, not-babysitting time to CONTINUE to hang out with kids, although realistically jessi isn't even that much older than danielle.) why on earth does kristy suddenly decide to put the club on hold for random volunteer projects? in what universe would she suggest this? and no, i don't care that kristy "prefers the babies, especially joy". ugh.

^ Okay. Personal perception, I suppose. I never considered Danielle the "saintly sick kid" but maybe that's because I read Troublemaker first. Also didn't find Jessi's attachment creepy and have developed similar ones (or maybe I'm just "creepy" too ;D) I think the girls just really care about kids and people in general and the world can use more of that. ;D Kristy putting the club on hold does seem a bit strange as does the whole baby thing but that wasn't enough to make me dislike this one. Personal preference and perception, though, like I said. My least favorites are any without real points like Farewell Dawn and MA and the Playground Fight and any that deal a lot with the club changing or ending like Fire at MA's House and Kristy's Worst idea.

^ I agree on Kristy's Worst Idea and Farewell Dawn. For some reason I don't reread a lot of Dawn books, probably because I think they are a little boring. Hmm, or maybe I don't have very many of her books.

I totally agree on Mary Anne and the Playground fight. That book was such a pointless bore. They barely fought! And the whole thing was wrapped up in like 2 seconds.

^ Understandable. I'm sorry for being defensive. Was just feeling sensitive about the whole "sick kid" thing because of posts on other threads at about the same time. Greer, I should reread Playground Fight since I don't actually remember what I didn't like about it. Just can never seem to get into it. I do like the subplot, though, and the food descriptions. ;D In fact, I can usually find at least one or two parts that I like in every book (maybe I try too hard to do this ;D)

For some reason I never liked Jessi and the Superbrat. It seemed a little farfetched to me that Stoneybrook would have its very own famous TV star who came back there to live while the show wasn't being filmed. The cover of that book is ridiculous, too. Jessi is about 20 feet tall and the look on her face as she holds her hand to her head is sooo dramatic.
