Or, you could look at that the other way, and say that the inconsistencies occur more in the later books -- the earlier ones are written by Ann, and everything after that is inconsistent with the original canon that was set up. Or it's retcon.... but whatever. I've kind of noticed that there are different "groups" of books. Like the 31 books or so "feel" one way, and have a sort of story line, then the next group kind of stand alone, then there is another group where MA and logan break up, then there's the mal gets mono storyline, then we have the dawn leaves and comes back and leaves, then abby. I'm not explaining myself very well, but I'm trying not to mess up my nailpolish.

^ I get that same feeling with the groups of books so I know what you mean. ;D

I was just reading Jessi's Baby-sitter and there are some nice bits of continuity with Mrs. McGill liking Vivaldi, and Kristy being bad at science. She tells David Michael it isn't her best subject.

Being on the choir reminds me of my older sister. She always feels the need to compliment me on everything I do--regardless of whether I'm good at doing it or not. Like singing. She told me I had a good voice. Well, I don't. I was in the choir in high school, but there were other voices to drown out mine. But once, I tried out for the school musical. It was like Jessi's audition--people were practically holding their ears in pain. I think people like my sister are the reason why American Idol has all these deluded people who think they can sing because other people tell them they can. Yeah that was my family and me with art. Everyone told me I was an artist but I'm really not. When I was younger though I believed them because I was one of the best in my grade eight class (I went to a kindergarten to grade 8 school so there was only about twenty of us) and so I joined art class when I went to High School. I quickly found out I'm really not good at all. I can draw certain things really well but compared to some of the people in my High School class I sucked. I wanted to drop out but my art teacher wouldn't let me.

I like how Kristy's Krushers continued to be mentioned all throughout the series (and Bart's Bashers). So many things seemed to be started with the pretense of being 'permanent', but was never heard from again. I thought it was pretty cool that this actually continued.

^They became quite the plot device throughout both BSC and LS books.

In both "Mallory's Christmas Wish" and "Happy Holidays, Jessi," North Pole Village in Lear's is mentioned as being Washington Mall's big Christmas display. In fact, the descriptions in both books are almost identical, probably because Peter Lerangis wrote both. NPV is mentioned again in "The Secret Life of Mary Anne Spier," since it was replaced by Winter World in that book.

Is Mrs. McGill liking Vivaldi also mentioned in Snowbound, or am I thinking of something totally different? Or is it in Baby-sitters' Island Adventure? I'm thinking it's in a Super Special, anyway...

^ I'm pretty sure it's in Snowbound, because Stacey puts her cassette tape into the tape player in the car on their way to the mall, and she finds that her Mom has switched tapes so that Vivaldi starts playing. Also in Stacey McGill, Matchmaker, I think they play Vivaldi when Jon Brooks and kids come to the McGills' for dinner

Yeah, I knew it was when Mrs. McGill was driving somewhere. I wasn't sure if it was the mall trip or around the time she tried to close the car window on the reporter's microphone.

In the first few LS books the kids' way of brushing teeth comes up a few times.

The Goldmans remain consistent as well, Claudia's neighbors. They're mentioned in several books (all I can remember right now is them being robbed in Phantom Phone Call), and then MA and her family rent their house in FF.

In more than one book it's mentioned that they aren't allowed to hang anything in their lockers with tape, so they use chewed-up gum to get around the rule. I think it was first mentioned in #10, and for sure in #12, because I just re-read it the other day.
