The gum thing really grosses me out every time I read it. That seems worse for the lockers than a piece of tape! Wouldn't you end up with locker doors with little bits of old gum dried up on them?

Most lockers are metal....and tape would probably peel right off, with no problems. The only reason I could think of the school not wanting them to use tape would be if the lockers were painted.

^And usually the insides of the lockers weren't painted. At least where I went to school they weren't. You'd think they would catch on to the fact the kids were all gumming up the insides of the lockers and tell them to quit. I guess it would be pretty time-consuming to monitor that, though. Or, why didn't they just bring magnets if they wanted to hang something in the locker? I had magnets in my locker. It doubles as a decoration AND being able to hang a poster up.

Magnets would be pretty obvious. Nowadays a lot of places sell magnets specifically with lockers in mind.

Sharon Schafer is 42 when they first move to Stoneybrook and, in Mary Anne and the Great Romance, Dawn mentions that her mom's 43rd birthday is coming up.

I like that the mentions of Stacey and her dad both being non-confrontational are consistent. Stacey and her mom both talk about that, and about her father having trouble discussing his emotions, in many books.

In Abby and the Notorious Neighbor, Abby's dad's harmonica, which was given to Anna, is mentioned.

In Dawn Diary One, Dawn says Jeff leaves his journals open anywhere, and didn't care when he saw Dawn reading his. In his chapter in BSC in the USA, he thinks the fight between Claudia and Stacey is dumb because, "what's the point of keeping a journal if no one can read it?"

The average age of the Krushers is mentioned a couple of times (5.8), although that doesn't make as much sense towards the end because the players on the team fluctuate a bit - the Delaneys leave, the Hsus and Bobby Gianelli join.

Dawn and Mary Anne seem to like to give each other jewelry as presents. Dawn gives Mary Anne a silver barrette when their parents get married and one of her favorite necklaces when she moves to CA, Mary Anne buys Dawn matching earrings and necklaces in Secret Life of MAS, and they both give each other pinky rings in Undercover Baby-sitter.

You know, I never thought to actually sit down and see if the average age really is what they tell us it is!

I'm reading Mary Anne and the Little Princess and they mentioned Claudia's phone number. I had to drag out Kristy's Great Idea to see if it was the same one and was completely shocked that it was. Can't believe they got something like that right a hundred books later. Oh, by the way, if you need a sitter or just want to say "hey" to Claudia, it's KL5-3231.
