Apricot rolls...Stacey takes a bunch of them, and candy, with her to Pine Island in her portrait book. The thing was I could never really imagine what they were but I liked hearing about them just the same. I used to think they might be similar to jelly rolls.

Pound cake got its name from the original recipe for it, which was a pound each of eggs, sugar, flour, and butter. The ratio of ingredients has changed now, but it's basically a butter cake. Oh, that sounds yummy, actually! It's what a pictured. A nice, solid, cake-y cake. The apricot rolls I imagined to be like those fruit leather things... I don't actually like them, and I don't even like apricots much, but the way Stacey talks about them makes them sound yummy.

You know what'd be awesome? If we had a BSC picnic, with all the foods that they eat... That'd be so cool.

I have to mention another one of my favourite food moments: When Claudia is sitting for the Perkinses in Snowbound, and she feeds them dinner. Leftover spaghetti, salad and apples for dessert. Even Laura's baby food doesn't sound bad... Beef, carrots and milk.

Weren't they marshmallows inside graham crackers, to form a sort of sandwich? Mind you, I'm not entirely sure what graham crackers are, anyway...

OT, but I made marshmallows the other day and they toast REALLY nicely. I have to make sure not to let any chocolate bars or graham crackers in the house or I will eat them all. jenlovesmorelli: Are you familiar with digestives? (I am a classic American in that I always get British and Australian things mixed up. I do know that your flag is the one with stars on it, though ) Graham crackers are sort of like those. Fun fact: they were invented by a guy who believed that the diet he supported would stave off desire for sexual activity. IIRC, he also thought adding condiments to your food would cause mental illness or something.
