Those are interesting points, kitkat...Claudia's house does have more relevance to the series as a whole and her house would have been a more meaningful choice. The Ghost at Dawn's House is one of my favorites, I love reading about the early days of Dawn living there and how she described it as a "large, creepy dollhouse." I have this on e-book on my laptop and started it before Christmas...I should finish it soon.

I just read this book for the first time and it was totally depressing. I also hated the way nothing got resolved. And (even though I don't like her) there was no Mallory! Way to end the series.
I still took the whole thing to heart, though. When I was twelve, my brother set our house on fire and he and I both lost basically all of our possessions due to smoke damage. We were able to salvage some stuff, and luckily, photo albums and things like that were downstairs and didn't get destroyed. But that smoke damage is a b*tch. And the smell... I will never, ever, EVER forget that smell.
But it was hard as hell being a twelve year old girl and losing all of your clothes, books, CDs, journals... everything from your childhood.
And yes, I'm totally paranoid now about fires. But my boyfriend and my father have those fireproof safes to put papers and other important stuff into and I'm hoping to get one for my upcoming birthday. It would be nice to have in case there's a fire and I can put my birth certificate, writing and disks, important photos, etc. in it and not have to worry about losing it. I'd recommend those to everyone. A little piece of mind, right?

^ So sorry about your house. That's awful and I can't imagine.... This one depresses me, too. Anyone notice that the later books all seem like they're leading up to the end? This one just seems so final yet so unresolved (if that makes sense ;D)

^ I agree. Speaking of that, I got a FF book today at the library but don't think I can bring myself to read it (I'm so weird, I know. ;D I hate change. ;D) The whole idea of the club ending and things changing with this one just depresses me - it's like losing some of my childhood or something. Again, I know I'm strange. ;D

^ Thanks. But no Mal or Jessi, right? Do they still have sitting chapters? I think those are some of my favorite parts of the BSC. ;D

They sit sometimes, but no notebook entries. Mal and Jessi make cameo appearances.

^ Thanks. Maybe I'll give it a try. ;D I have always wondered why they decided to end the series (BSC at least) with a fire. Anyone have any ideas?

They sit sometimes, but no notebook entries. Mal and Jessi make cameo appearances. And there's no chapter 2 ;D.

^ Now I might not mind that part. ;D Of course, I don't mind the chapter 2s sometimes. What was the chapter 2 like in this book? I haven't read it enough to remember much about it.

I agree, it wasn't fair to her and a crappy way to end the series . If I were AMM, I would've had the last book be kind of like Baby-Sitters Remember. Mal could've come home for a school break and all of the BSC could've had a sleepover and talked about their memories baby-sitting and such (or something like that ;D). But I guess they just wanted a lead-in to FF instead of an ending.
