It kind of bothers me that in the newer-edition cover, they change Claudia's face but don't bother on making Stacey look less like a 30-year-old Mom and Dawn less like a boy with long hair (and just eliminated Charlotte from the scene all together because we all know she wasn't in that scene!) Dawn can be hugging Mary Anne or something...
Loved how most of the book was the garage sale. Seems kind of lame but, then again, the girls are 13 and I remember how, at that age, I was excited about our garage sale, too.

I liked how Stacey thought her sweater should have a forty-dollar price tag at the garage sale!

When did the Marshalls get a dog? Stacey tells us before her parents deliver their news that she can hear the next door neighbors, the Marshalls' dog barking. I thought they only had a never heard from again (outside of their first call to the BSC) cat?

I thought that - at the end of the book when Stacey was mentioning all the BSC members' outfits - that Dawn's was out of character. Seemed more like a Stacey outfit to me.

And it HAD to be mentioned that Stacey helped Mary Anne pick out her outfit. Because, God forbit, Mary Anne pick out a blue sweater dress with blue leggins and a pink belt herself!

I'm re-reading and noticed two things, probably inconsistencies, except the second seems to happen often. Stacey is baby-sitting for Charlotte and about to break the news that the McGills are moving as so as Dr. J leaves. At the bottom of Page 87 (old cover) Dr. J says, "Bye, Char. I'm going to the hospital now. Daddy will be home at six." On Page 90, Stacey suggests to Char that they go over to Stacey's house so Char can see what's going on and maybe that way the move won't be so sudden, will be easier on her. Okay. Before leaving, Stacey writes a note to Dr. J! I'm just assuming her husband was due home first since that's how Dr. J made it sound. If so, why wasn't Stacey addressing the note to him?! Or even though Stacey was 99% certain he would be home first, Mr. J was so insignificant to his wife, that just in case, she wrote it to Dr. J? I realize Ann probably sailed right over this one without intent but it just caught my eye. Dawn is sitting for the Barretts on a Thursday, the day they are having a sidewalk sale. She gets to their house to quote the book, "right after school." Guess at 3pm or even a few minutes before. Mrs. Barrett is going to her part time job and says she will be back by 6. I know it's possible she is only working such a short time, but doesn't it sound weird? This happens a lot in BSC universe. Parents seem to go out for a short period of time, yet claim to be doing many things. I know this case its work but you know. It's like in one of the very early books Mrs. Newton is going to see the doctor (before Lucy was born). As we learn in #3, her doctor was in Stamford. Well he was with the Stamford Hospital so presumably so was his office. I think all within an hour and a half's time, she was going to the doctor (Stamford was said to be 30 minutes away) , shopping, and running errands. What a human tornado! Maybe time stopped even in 7th Grade and an hour and half was really equivalent to like 3 hours.

Maybe the obgyn had two offices. I know of a number of docs who have.

Does anyone else get slightly annoyed at the fact that the title has two goodbyes in it... Goodbye Stacey, Goodbye. I'd rather it just have been Goodbye, Stacey.

It's kind of overdramatic, huh? Imagine if Dawn's was the same... "Farewell, Dawn....Farewell" Oh please.

That's true, Wenonah. LOL, ndj1991, that is so funny. If a "and "good riddance" had been added that title would have been perfect.

And 'Good Riddance Dawn' would totally fit the cover picture, i don't think i've ever seen Kristy look happier! Claudia looks pretty pleased with the situation as well... lol

I know, I was pleased by the event. Kristy looks jubuliant, Claudia to me just looks extremely made up, and MA looks pouty and upset.
