Regarding the whole Natalie Springer B plot, I just assumed that she was shy and that's why she had trouble making friends. I was a little horrified by the BSC's plan to help her make friends. I know their intentions were good, but as a shy child myself, I would have been MORTIFIED if my baby-sitters tried to help me make friends. And don't the ones who baby-sit for her (Stacey, Jessi, Shannon) invite a whole bunch of children over in hopes of her making a friend? I would have hated that!! Why not just invite one child over and see how that goes?
Of course, we find out Natalie is't shy, but rather a bossy little biddy. No wonder the kids didn't like her! I wouldn't want to be around someone like that either!
That's one thing that bothers me about the BSC on re-read. They just can't accept that some kids are quiet or don't want to perform. Why isn't it OK to just relax and read/ watch TV after school? I kept to myself a lot as a kid because I was shy, and stayed inside a lot because of my allergies. The BSC would have driven me nuts! XD
But yeah, I don't remember that much about the Natalie subplot (it's not a favorite). I would have found her annoying too!
LOL, same here! I don't think I would have liked if they were my baby-sitters and trying to "help" me make friends. Especially Kristy because I hate sports, lol. Reminds me of when Claudia was trying to force the shy Charlotte in trying out for that Stoneybrook pageant. Sometimes they just need to leave well enough alone.
