Logan was a jerk in this one . He's insensitive comment really got to me -Mary Anne a lost kitten is sad but don't you think your overreacting a little? Plus I still think he knew Kerry had kidnapped Tigger .

Just reread and no mention of Mel Tucker. I don't think the creepy kid is him because I think they would have said (they knew Mel by that time, right?) Still don't care for this book, probably because I'm not a huge cat fan so can't really relate to how MA gets so worked up over Tigger being gone. I guess I would be upset if something happened to my horse, but things are different with barn animals. Anyway, I thought it was a little strange (though really nice - wish I had good friends like that how the whole BSC got so involved with helping MA find Tigger. My favorite part of this book was the baby-sitting. The kids were all so cute. Loved how the Barrett kids were so worried about Pow and how Jamie played with Tigger at the beginning. Also really liked Gabbie wanting to sing Christmas carols. Hunter was cute, too, but the most annoying thing about this book was two chapters of "allergy talk". In all (probably because of the subject), one of my least favorite books of the series but I can see how a real "animal lover" might have a much different opinion. Mel Tucker wasn't even in the early books so where did his name come from ? He doesn't appear til later .

This isn't a bad cover except for the pose on Tigger. He's either scratching his face or about to do the leg up/butt lick. Just draw the cat sitting there, lol. This one is pretty similar to the US covers. I like the guy's Adidas-looking tennies in the background. The girl looks to be standing on a pile of bricks to see over the fence when she could walk five feet to the right and just go around to the other side of it...?

Aww, Tiggy! Both are getting some leg action in.

I don't know why the girl is standing on bricks in order to look straight out. Tigger is small so seeing far into the distance won't help. At least look up or something.
It also doesn't make sense that Tigger is on the first cover when he should be missing.

They look like elves. Also, look down, Mary Anne. Tigger is near. That's quite the entertainment center. Those aren't the best looking braids that she's had. Titles: Mary Anne lost the Tiger Where is Tiger? Mary Anne is search of Tigrou Mary Anne is looking for her cat (the most straight forward title ever, haha) Mary Anne and Tigger’s disappearance

They look like elves. Also, look down, Mary Anne. Tigger is near. This one is my favorite out of the international ones for some reason. I really like most of the French covers as well, some more so than the originals. I really like the art style. I haven't read many of the books in the 20s for the longest time, so I don't remember them much at all and they're fun to read. This one does feel a bit pointless (and honestly makes me dislike Kerry quite a lot. Also that freaking psychopath kid who wanted $100. Wtf was that), but it's also decently written, being an early series book. I think this book and Island Adventure were why I didn't like Logan when I was younger. He's SUCH a jerk. I get that he's irritated because he might get kicked off the team, but he acts like Tigger missing is no big deal. Idk, I love animals, so I relate to how distraught she is in this book. What is wrong with Logan? It seems like he's so not there for MA when someone she really cares about is missing. This passage is sad given what the next book is: "Claudia had a bad feeling about things, overall. She wondered if it was too soon to ask me how I’d feel about getting another kitten, about getting a replacement for Tigger." I am NOT looking forward to the next book (Or Jessi and the Superbrat, either, but only because Derek Masters storylines bore the crap out of me. I'm not at the point where I want to skip any books yet, though).

This book creeps me out when I think of it. I can't get over a kitten in a box in a closet.

Not really how I usually picture Mary Anne and Logan and yet pretty good depictions of them.

Just re-read this one again. For some reason, I liked it a lot more this time, despite how pointless it really is.
Logan's baseball woes was just such a weak excuse, but maybe it is realistic for a 13yo boy? Still not a fan. Also, Kerry did NOT get into enough trouble. In fact, she was basically rewarded for hiding Tigger (by getting a hairless pet, although I don't know if it's ever confirmed that she did get one). Ugh. Plus, as an allergy sufferer, I felt so bad for poor Hunter. Making him suffer like that wasn't right no matter how you look at it.
But otherwise, I thought Kristy and Dawn were great best friends to Mary Anne here, like their friendships were shown instead of just told. Somehow, I don't think I picked up on that until this re-read. I think I'd give this one a 7, which kind of surprises me.

I have allergies too. On bad allergy days, I get so frustrated I could cry. I can't imagine poor Hunter feeling that bad and not knowing the reason why. Cat hair sticks to your clothes so you know he was breathing it in with every breath.
