^Really?! That would be really cool if he was. I'd like to believe even more than that MA did even from time to time keep in touch with him. I just might have to reread Jessi's Wish tomorrow. I am finishing a reread of a My Secret Unicorn book tonight. Thank you, Greer

My mom did something similar when she was a teenager, to what MA did with Frankie.

I did reread this morning and enjoyed much more than usual. Mr. Katz sounded like a great teacher and friend to the kids. I love that Danielle got him Mouse Ears and wish we had gotten to read about her giving the hat to him I also thought Jessi was a wonderful big sister and also friend to Charlotte when she helped support/calm down both girls after they were upset that Danielle was back in the hospital. Squirt at the beginning "whing, whing," meaning "swing, swing," was so funny. The only part that still bothers me is Greg, Danielle's 6 1/2 year old brother. At the cookout, he is upset because Danielle gets candy (after her pill) and he doesn't. It also came across to me as though his parents ignored him. IIRC, I felt that way in "Jessi and the Troublemaker" and wish he had had more of storyline, perhaps he could have been friends with Mathew Hobart or even David Michael. I am not recalling right now any 6 year old BSC boys. Kristy with the babies always touches me as it reinforces my belief how much she truly did love all the charges. Frankie, for some reason I always thought was older, maybe 8-10 range. MA made it sound as though he was younger. MA tells us that her dad and Sharon know Frankie's parents. I realized in reading about Claudia's art class that it really is how the BSC ghostwriters often write Karen in the BSC that was annoying not Karen herself who I have come to like a lot in the LS series which I just love. Wenonah that is cool about your mom and thank you Greer, for helping me to give this book another read

I'll have to ask her about it; she'll be here later on. (my dad too, of course!)

Read this last night and found it enjoyable and realistic. And something I can relate to.

This really was a touching story. For a charge, Danielle really was a complex character with realistic feelings about the situation she was in. I really liked her character and liked the little break we got from the baby-sitting world in this one. The Kids Club was cool and it was nice to see more of Becca. I agree that Jessi was a great big sister and role model to the kids in this one. She let the kids feel their feelings and try to work things out for themselves in several instance which was cool. And she was very insightful about how the kids were feeling about Danielle in this one. My favorite moment was when Danielle's hair starting growing back and all the kids wanted to do her hair. That was a really special moment. And I liked that everything wasn't solved at the end, Danielle was sick again and back in the hospital. It was a bittersweet way to end the book but realistic.

This is cute! Better than the US cover. Jessi's rocking that Canadian tuxedo, too.

I don't really have anything sparky to say about this book. It's not one of the more exciting books (honestly, I just did not care much about the other sitters' volunteering, although I did like Kristy's chapter). I really like Danielle and it made me really sad that one of her wishes was to graduate elementary school.
The club still operated, but I kind of wanted to know how business was affected. Hopefully that doesn't sound dumb, I'm just curious, since it seems like Stoneybrook parents are so reliant on the club. Although I guess they do go on several two week vacations (can you read the jealousy in this comment lol), so maybe they just let their clients know beforehand? Maybe Shannon and Logan get more jobs then, but I thought the main reason they were associate members was because they were too busy to be regular members (well, I guess with Logan it's because meetings were too awkward. But he is very involved in sports and for some reason works during summers). Oh, well. It's something I wish was touched on. The only time I remember this being addressed was in SM1, when Kristy was throwing a hissy fit (sorry, I hate her in that book) about several members going to Maine. It was a cluster****. I guess when it comes to super specials we just need to suspend disbelief. Maybe they just end up lucking out because clients' families go on vacation too. Who knows.
I really want to read Troublemaker now. I remember that being one of my favorite Jessi books. The crazy stunts Danielle pulls were fun to read about.

I don't really have anything sparky to say about this book. It's not one of the more exciting books . This book never resonated with me either. I'm guessing people don't like to read about sick kids (unless they are sick themselves - this must have been a favorite for those kids). This board went 7 years without commenting on this book so it must not be very popular

Lurlene McDaniel made a whole career out of writing about sick kids, lol.

This book seems dull to me.
However, people who had been might click with it.
