I know some of you can't get through the Little Sister books because of your Karen hate, but a big reason why I like them is to read all the 2nd grade kid enthusiastic stuff. I just randomly thought the other day how Karen loved to collect the mail every day. I did too, and if I ever got something it was SO exciting.
So do the Little Sister books spark any little kid memories for you?

I love all the 2nd grade stuff. I also love how excited Karen gets over birthdays, family outings/trips, and holidays. I was the same way.

I can relate to a lot of Karen's angst. I really feel for her when she gets indignant when her family favors Andrew at times. I read Karen's Tattletale and I wished Karen would beat the s*it out of Andrew for what he did to her. I hated the bulls*it Liza tells her "Now Karen he's only four" Ooooh! That kind of phrase was fighting words to me as a little kid, and it still infuriated me to read that again. Andrew was being a right pain in the ass and Lisa and Seth do nothing about it, only encourage Andrew to be a jerk-off.
Yea its true he's four, but just cuz he's four doens't mean he should of been allowed to be a little dips*it. Thats one of the prime things in a kids life that ruins them, in my opinion. Giving them an excuse for naughty behavior due to age is only asking for trouble.

Wow, I didn't see Andrew's actions as that bad...little kids/younger sibs tattle, it's just what they do. But Andrew's a good kid, and it seems like Lisa and Seth wouldn't tolerate it for long, anyway. He'd get the Karen punishment ("go up to your room and think about what you did"). Karen bugs with her need to be the center of attention alllll the time while Andrew has to stay in the background. That would get any younger sib fed up.

It was still atrocious of him to get her in trouble for something HE did, though..I would have held a grudge for a long time if I were in her shoes. Anyway I related to her being reluctant to visit Hannie after the accident, uninviting Nancy from the sleepover, wanting time with just her friends (the investigators in Karen's Mysteries), finding David Michael pesky in Karen's Big Fight, her anger in Karen's Birthday and her reluctance to go to Pamela's party (I would have been like hell no, I'm not going) as well as feeling betrayed by what Ricky did afterwards.
