I've recently become a big Karen fan. I'm reading Karen's books left and right and I think she's so awesome. It's funny because I used to think Karen was a spoiled brat, and was in need of a spanking half the time.
I don't know exactly what made me become her big fan Maybe its because I was younger when reading her books and now I'm older and I find the antics cute and funny rather than obnoxious and annoying.
But she's so cute to me now. I wish I could spend a day with Karen. XD
I should write a mini story about that....haha

I like her because she wants to do and see everything she can get her hands on. She's going to have a lot of good experiences in her life because of her attitude, and I admire that. (Ok, she would if she wasn't a fictional character.) Plus reading about the life of a 2nd grader sparks so many memories of my own childhood.

she's really sweet too, like towards her best friends. but then sometimes she tends to favor her friends, which is OK since they ARE her best friends, but at least she knows right and wrong and she would never favor her friend if they ARE doing something bad, at least i haven't seen that spring up yet. there are a ton of LS books i recently bought, so there are some great adventures i am looking forward to

I like Karen, always have. Reading LS takes me back to second grade myself. Me too. LS and BSC just take me back to my childhood altogether, when things were simpler .

Me too!!
I started out reading the Little Sister books, so I liked Karen a lot. It wasn't until a year or so ago, when I started re-reading my BSC books, that I was irritated by her and didn't like her. I think she's cute in her own series, but I don't like the way she's portrayed in the BSC books. In both series, she pulls a lot of crap (like the manicure in Baby-Sitters on Board; lying to Maxine in Karen's Pen Pal, etc), but she tends to get away with it in the BSC books. We don't really see her get into much trouble in that series, but we do sometimes see the negative consequences of her actions in her own series. I think that's why she's a bit more likeable, at least to me, in the Little Sister books.

I think I've posted this in numerous places ;D but about a year ago when I was just getting back into the BSC books I wasn't sure I liked Karen or not. I found her quite annoying in the regular series. When I started posting here, I picked the username "karenthebrat" in a half-joking sort of manner. When I started reading more and more of the LS books I really grew to like her a lot. I don't recall reading many of them when I was younger, but now I'm collecting them! In fact, I accidently ordered a duplicate Karen's Mistake so if anyone is interested in it, let me know.

I agree with you Karen, i only read 1-38 of Karen's books when i was younger, and a few assorted numbers like Karen's Big Weekend and Karen's Stepmother. But I started getting "too old" for the books in the eyes of my parents and they wouldn't buy them for me. Sure I had allowance, but i wasn't allowed to spend my allowance on things i watned. In a sense i had to choose something i wanted, and if they didn't approve i couldn't have it. They felt it was not challenging enough.
Today, with my own jobs and moneys i bought myself what i coudln't have when i was a kid. :3 Now i can read all of Karen's Adventures! :3

I loved her as a kid, and grew annoyed with her when I started with BSC. In the later books, I thought she got annoying, and seemed more likeable in the first 40 books of the series.

I loved her as kid too. She can be bratty and annoying sometimes, but I was when I was younger too!

I always liked Karen. She can be a brat sometimes but I generally find her to be a sweet kid.
