Scholastic has a new web site for Ann's upcoming series, Main Street, although there's not much on it yet.

Interesting. Does anyone know how old the two girls are? (My computer at work doesn't let me open .pdf files, so sorry if it gave that information in the "sneak peek.")

It doesn't say their ages in the sneak peek. Doesn't look too interesting.

I found the sneak peek rather jarring, the way it starts off with a chapter about all the people in the Row Houses and that chapter is probably quite different in narrative tone than most of the book is. It might have made more sense to have just given us the part about the girls in the sewing store and leave out that other chapter, because I'm sure it flows fine in the actual novel, but the juxtaposition of the two in an excerpt is weird. ETA that although it's not mentioned in the excerpt, according to this Letter from Ann, Flora is eleven and Ruby is nine.
