This is inspired by the Mary Anne Misses Logan thread where several posters have noted that the babysitters are rollarskating on the cover-something they never do in the book. Can you think of any other covers where you know it features a scene not in the book. One that comes to mind is Stacey Vs. the BSC. I think it has Stacey and Robert at the movies with the other babysitters sitting behind them acting annoying. I'm pretty sure that doesn't happen in the book. On the other hand, can you think of any covers that match a books content very well, possibly down tho what people are wearing?

Robert isn't on the cover, but right about the rest.
Dawn's Wicked Stepsister--Dawn and Mary Anne, back to back, with Jeff looking on, rolling his eyes. Definitely didn't happen in the book!
IIRC Claudia's outfit perfectly matches with the description on Welcome Back, Stacey.
They got Dawn's bag exactly right on the cover of Farewell, Dawn. Such a little detail. (I also think this is one of the best pics of Dawn ever)

I think the first covers of the first 14 books all have scenes that match the cover pics. Books 16 & 17 as well. Book 19 has Claudia in her nightgown like she mentioned except the other people on the cover are MA and Logan, not Claudia's teacher. 21 has Mallory at the Arnold twins' birthday party. Mallory and the Mystery Diary has Mal and Buddy in Mal and Vanessa's room, reading the diary. MA and the Great Romance has Sharon doing the bocquet (sp?) toss at her and Richard's reception and they got the outfits right: Sharon's pink dress, Dawn's Laura Ashley dress and Dawn's sailor outfit on MA. Books 32-45 have scenes that the cover depicts. Book 47's cover does not match any scene in the book. I may be back with more later.

Mary Anne and Logan on the cover of Claudia and the Bad Joke? I thought it was Betsy Sobak and her brother...

^ none of the above. They definitely aren't mary anne and logan. They're definitely sitting charges. Betsy didn't visit claudia in the hospital, nor did she have a brother. She had an older sister. Probably just random sitting charges.

Could they be Suzi and Buddy Barrett?

On the new cover, it looks like Jamie and Charlotte.
On the original cover (the one I have) "Jamie" looks more like a shrunken Logan!
I am almost certain the Barretts were the clients who sent Claudia flowers. I remember Mrs. Kishi commenting how Claud's clients must really think a lot of her.

I think most of the super special covers don't match the books. I think the cover of Winter Vacation might be in the book but it's been a while since I read the book so I'm not sure.

Yeah, I think it's implied that the BSC have a snowball "war" amongst themselves. Remember when they were on teams for the snow war? I wonder if the teams are accurate on the cover. It shows Jessi, Mal and Kristy against Claudia, Mary Anne, Stacey and Dawn. That doesn't sound right but can anyone remember?

^I don't think the cover scene does ever happen in the book. MA for one, I don't believe did anything remotely outside, did she? The red team was supposed to be: Claudia, Mal, and Jessi. The blue team the rest of the sitters. (Kristy, Dawn, MA, and Stacey). On the cover it looks like Ma and Jessi against the two blonds, and Claudia kneeling). I have left out MA and Kristy because I have no clue which is which! Do you guys think Kristy is wearing the red jacket on the left or the yellow on the right? I think the "red" looks a little more like Kristy on other covers but then the "yellow" is (maybe) aiming a little more? IDK!

The cover of Stacey and the Mystery Money happened in the book.
