The Baby-Sitters Club 30 Days Challenge:
Day 1: Favorite Sitter:
Mary Anne Spier, she's the one that I can relate the most to and she's also my favorite because I love how Ann and the other authors described her in the books.
Day 2: Least Favorite Sitter:
Logan Bruno, This was so hard for me to chose! Since I love and like all of them equally the same, but I chose Logan. I really hate the way he treated Mary Anne in most of the books.
Day 3: Favorite Regular Book:
"Mary Anne Saves The Day!", I love this particular book because it was the very first one I read and picked up at my local library and it got me hooked up on the series and gave me my love for reading.
Day 4: Least Favorite Regular Book:
"The Fire At Mary Anne's House", that book scared me a lot!
Day 5: Favorite Mystery Book:
"Mary Anne & The Haunted Bookstore", I just love this Mystery a lot and thought that it was the best one out of all of them.
Day 6: Least Favorite Mystery Book:
"Mallory & The Ghost Cat", that was a pretty boring book.
Day 7: Favorite Super Special Book:
"Baby-Sitters Remember", I just love this book because Shannon was in it and I just love her memory the best.
Day 8: Least Favorite Super Special Book:
"Baby-Sitters On Board!", that one was kind of boring and didn't interest me too much.
Day 9: Favorite Minor Character:
Michel, I just love the fact that they made a French-Canadian character.
Day 10: Least Favorite Minor Character:
Karen Brewer, I really don't care about her. I read a few Little Sister books and owned a few, but lost complete interest on them and end up giving them to the Salvation Army.
Day 11: Favorite Sitting Charge:
Vanessa Pike has always been my favorite out of all of their sitting charges.
Day 12: Least Favorite Sitting Charge:
Claire Pike, the way she calls everyone that stupid name was so annoying.

Day 12: Least Favorite Sitting Charge-Karen Brewer (constant) because she was not someone I cared to have be at the center of most any scene/story that she was in. I don't think she was always "precocious, so smart, etc." Often time, (Louie's funeral, scaring the kids at the park) she was plain annoying. My not as regular vote would go to the Kormans. I also dislike "tats" like Skylar but unlike the Delaneys this family had little about them that endeared.

Day 13 Favorite parent - Richard. He didn't seem that bad, even though he was a little too strict in the first few books. I also liked how he and Jeff bonded over jokes.

Day 13 Favorite Parent: Richard, hands down. From the teeny glimpse of him we got to see in MA's Portrait and during MA's Makeover, he loved his daughter fiercely. I may not like the Schafers (Jeff was all right) but always was glad if Sharon truly brought Richard some happiness. I never thought, other than perhaps the super early bedtimes and/bedroom decor, that he was "super strict." In fact, he actually seemed like a * gasp * real parent more than a lot of the others did.

Day 14: Least Favorite Parent, this is hard. I don't qualify either Mr. Nicholl's or Patrick as "parents." So, my "vote" goes to Elizabeth Brewer. In the very early days of KGI, when she, like a lot of the characters had true personality, I did indeed admire her. I loved how she spent alone time with each of her children and made certain they knew she cared. Soon after she married Watson, certainly following the arrival of Emily, she flew the coop into typical Stoneybrook parental oblivion. The only times we really heard from her was during baby-sitting instructions or briefly when she and Kristy hung out in "Mother's Day Surprise." I had hoped for more from her even some type of friendship with Mary Anne.

Day 14 Least favorite parent - Patrick. He was immature in the regular series and I don't think he changed when he was marrying Zoey in Friends Forever.

Day 6: Least Favorite Mystery Book:
There were quite a few that I thought were just a little too "Scooby-Doo", but one that sticks out in my mind as being one of my least favorites is actually "Stacey and the Missing Ring". Not that it was "Scooby-Doo"-ish, but I just hated that the lady automatically assumed Stacey was a thief with no evidence and took it to the length that she did.
Day 7: Favorite Super Special Book:
"Snowbound"...I read this one over and over as a kid.
Day 8: Least Favorite Super Special Book:
I wasn't a super huge fan of "Here Come the Bridesmaids", but I tire of wedding themed stories in general.
Day 9: Favorite Minor Character:
Emily Bernstein. It was nice to hear about a girl who seemed to be universally respected and liked by the BSC that wasn't part of the club in any way. That was pretty rare.
Day 10: Least Favorite Minor Character:
Karen annoys me. I have gotten interest in reading the Little Sister series and I do enjoy some of those storylines, but Karen is still a brat.
Day 11: Favorite Sitting Charge:
While I like Charlotte Johannsen, she always seemed like a little too much of a "Mary Sue" perfect little girl character. Therefore, my true "favorite" to read about would probably be Jenny Prezzioso, although in real life I'd hate to sit for her. She seemed more real than some of the others.
Day 12: Least Favorite Sitting Charge:
Claire Pike. "Silly-billy-goo-goo" was cute the first twenty times. Then it got really, really old.
Day 13: Favorite Parent:
I like Sharon a lot, because I like reading about how scatterbrained she is. She seems to be a lot like I would be if I had kids, which may not be the best thing, but I'd be overwhelmed enough to leave my keys in the freezer more than once. Thankfully for myself and the world at large, I have no kids and no immediate plans to have them ;-)
Also, I know she isn't a "parent" but a grandparent, but I really like Mimi. She's another one of those characters that made Stoneybrook a bit more real in its early days than it ever was later on.

^I wanted to vote for Mimi. In fact I had begun typing up my reply with her name in it. I often got the impression that in Claudia's heart of hearts, she (C) considered Mimi "mom" and Rioko "second mom." Thank you for choosing her, Peppermint. Edited to add Day 15: Favorite BSC Fight. I'm not a (cat or otherwise) fighting fan so really don't have one. I think one of their dumbest fights besides MA's new hairstyle was the "Fall into Fall." It would have been so easy just to say, "great idea/concept Kristy, but we are so busy right now. Maybe we can do something for November harvest/Thanksgiving instead." Presto, problem probably solved.

The Baby-Sitters Club 30 Day Challenge: Day 1: Favorite Sitter - Mary Anne Spier...for some reason she has been my favorite since the very beginning, probably because I was always the child who loved sob stories and hers seemed the worse. I identified with her because I felt that I was pretty shy when it came to new people, and I had the brown hair and brown eyes described. In the earlier books when she was really overly kind and cried at the drop of a hat (before it became cartoonish), I also felt I was similar. However, Claudia has always been a close second favorite for me, because I loved her personality and I remember making a corner of my room into an 'art studio' for my love of Claudia and trying to dress like her. Day 2: Least Favorite Sitter - Dawn Schafer. When she first came into the picture I really liked her, but once she went back and forth for the millionth time and finally moved to CA after getting so mad at her brother for leaving their mother, I stopped liking her very much. She was anything but original and...she frustrated me. Day 3: Favorite Book from Regular Series - Claudia and the Phantom Phone Calls hands down. I love that book. I love Claudia in that book. I love all the girls. I love the prank. I love Alan Gray. Day 4: Least Favorite Book from Regular Series - Kristy's Worst Idea - hated it. Thought it was a very pointless book that really didn't further any plot lines. Plus everyone seemed so out of character. Day 5: Favorite Mystery - I actually really love the mysteries...and there are a few that stand out for me. Stacey and the Haunted Masquerade - I love the plot and it feels creepy and it introduced us to Cary Retlin. Mary Anne and the Silent Witness - I love the MA and Cary interaction! Kristy and the Cat Burglar - I love that Cary is such a big part of it - and the MA and Cary moment at the end! "You're bleeding..." touches forehead gently.... "Am I? It doesn't hurt." OMGoodness - CUTE! Day 6: Least Favorite Mystery - I strained and strained and thought and thought and could not think of a single one I've read that I really did not like in some way. So, I can't answer this. I really liked the mystery ones. A lot. Day 7: Favorite Super Special Snowbound. I absolutely love this book. It seems one of the more realistic plots to me...and I love where each character gets stuck. I love seeing the closeness of Claudia and her mom and Kristy getting all girly...I loved the Pikes. And I have always wished to live where it snows...so I loved when I could read of snow. Day 8: Least Favorite Super Special Book: Here Come the Bridesmaids. I have an absolute hate for this book because it bothers me in lots of aspects...like why Dawn and Mary Anne automatically felt she would be a bridesmaid (and why they actually made her one!), why Stacey is in the Barrett's wedding - er - last I checked it was Dawn who had the special connection with Mrs. Barrett and who she sung her praises of...but that's just the start. Do Carol and Jack really have no friends their age that they have to use Dawn's friends as stand-ins in their wedding? I would have believed it more if it was Dawn and Mrs. Bruen being the bridesmaids. Hiring a 13 year old to be your wedding planner and buying her ticket to CA to do so is just, um...wow, and the dresses on the cover are just hideous in my opinion. So. much. hatred. I will stop now. Day 9: Favorite Minor Character - Alan Gray has always been a favorite of mine, since I was very little, but Cary Retlin has also grown on me in the past few years....so this is a bit hard for me. I love them both for so many different reasons. Alan because I feel that although he can be a pest, he has a huge heart and really never means any harm and Cary because - why else? - he is intriguing. Plus I love how both interact with the BSC. <3 ---------- I have so slacked - what with the holiday, my husband's birthday, family, and how tired I have been.... lol no I'm not making any excuses at all - I am just a slacker and apparently failed my challenge. Anyway to carry on --------------- Day 10: Least Favorite Minor Character - Justin Forbes - I know this is a strange character to not like, it wasn't as though he did anything bad really - but as a hardcore ALAN GRAY fan, I felt that Justin took his spotlight in the few books he was in. When he made the prank phone call to Stacey's party, I think it would have been funnier if Alan somehow snuck out to make the call and then back in - or even gave it to Sam to make the call...I just felt he was kinda a waste (no offense to my dear friend Morgs who likes him), but he really had no real purpose in the books that Alan didn't already take care of.
