Dawn and Stacey look so similar on the covers. If the books didn't have their names in the titles, I'm not sure I could tell the girls apart. Stacey does not have a perm and Dawn's super long blonde California hair is really no longer than Stacey's. I still can't tell who is who on the Summer Vacation cover. They look like drunk twins that decided to run in and mess up the picture line. On that cover specifically, I'm guessing that Stacey is the one with the awkward, gangly leg sticking out? Her "poison ivy leg".

Lol, I wonder if Stacey was trying to discreetly spread it to Mary Anne and Jessi.

Babysitter's European Vacation isn't too bad, either...

I like the group covers the best. I often end up starring at those covers thinking about whose outfits I like the best and whose outfit looks stupid.

I like the group covers the best, too. It seems like a lot of us do. You`re right, you can totally stare at group covers for ages thinking about who has the best outfit, who looks the prettiest and who looks like an ugly man, who`s doing something that their character would actually be doing or that they actually did do in the book, etc.

This is difficult since there's stuff to criticize or ridicule on 99% of the covers, but I'm going to vote for the cover of #9 The Ghost at Dawn's House, because if it weren't for this image I might never have started reading the BSC books!
I was probably about 7- or 8-years-old and at the time I was reading the Little Sister books (although even at that age I found Karen to be insufferable), and my sister (who is a year older than me) was reading the BSC books. I REALLY wanted to read about the stories in the BSC books because they sounded so much cooler (teenagers! boyfriends! sleepovers!) than the stupid Little Sister plots, but I was intimidated because the books looked harder than the Little Sister books (smaller font! more pages! no pictures!). [Yes, I was pretty stupid!]
So then one day I saw the cover of #9 The Ghost at Dawn's House, and man, I cannot tell you how much I wanted to read that book. First the books had teenagers, boyfriends and sleepovers, and now they're adding freaking haunted houses and ghost hunting? The cover of the book just looked so amazingly scary and exciting, and so I begged my sister to tell me how the story ended ("Was it really a ghost after all???"), but she refused and told me I should read it myself. I couldn't resist the allure of the cover, and so I started reading the BSC.
And then none of the books ever came close to being how exciting that cover looked. Kind of a letdown.

^ I love your story! For some reason, I feel like I've read it before. Hmm. I also like the cover of A Ghost At Dawn's House but it ruins it for me when the stairs to the passage are going up (to the sky...wtf???)

^I probably have posted my BSC 'testimony' here on the boards before (possibly multiple times). I have a tendency to repeat myself.

There's a discussion about the passage in The Ghost At Dawn's House and how it was strange that it was between two rooms and why it went downstairs (I'm not sure) instead of opening to the other room.
