^Lol, that's great Buttercup! Maybe if that actually did happen Kristy or someone would finally ask Karen to either calm down or leave. I could also totally see one of the sitters adding, "We can't be too upset with Candykane. We still have that job taking care of her brother Harry. New clients are new clients."

Claudia missing a meeting in Claudia and the First Thanksgiving for a babysitting job and says that's one of the few times it's acceptable.

I never noticed until now that "Harry Kane" sounds kind of like the word "hurricane."

From the Truth about Stacey:
The club hadn't even had a chance for a proper meeting to discuss Jamie's bad news, since Monday's meeting had been held hastily after the Big Brother Party, and Kristy and Mary Anne weren't present because they were at the Thomases' watching Jamie and cleaning up.
So Kristy missed a meeting... Interesting!

And the plot thickens...
So yesterday, Friday, I gave a special party. It was special because, aside from Kristy, Claudia, and Stacey, there was one guest who wasn't a club member — yet. Dawn. I'd told the others all about her, and they wanted to meet her. They knew that I'd like her to become a club member. I wasn't sure how they'd feel about that. We'd had to look for new club members once before, and that was a disaster. But Dawn was different. My party was held from five to eight.
From MA Saves the Day. A party on Friday from 5-8! Who will anser the phone?!

^Trouble! I am shocked that Kristy allowed a party to happen especially one with Dawn in attendance! I am re-reading "Maid Mary Anne," and Kristy takes a job with the Papadakis' on a Friday between 2-6. IIRC someone mentioned in this book's thread that Stacey also had a sitting job during a BSC meeting in it. If so, that is almost a "crime!"

Interesting! it's funny that kristy and MA BOTH missed a meeting because they were sitting for a single child. later kristy never would have allowed two sitters to miss a meeting unless they were sitting for five kids or more.

I just read Jessi's Wish for the first time since I was a kid and oh my goodness! Not only is Kristy ok with Jessi missing meetings to volunteer with the Kids Can Do Anything Club, but *she* suggests that everyone take up a volunteer position for the next couple of weeks and that anyone who can show up to meetings should but that it's not a big deal if they can't. Ann actually wrote this one though, and her Kristy tends to be a lot less militant than the ghostwriters' Kristy.

In Kristy's Big Idea, Mrs Thomas is looking for a sitter while they have dinner, and I'm guessing maybe Kristy just went with close to dinner time/after 5 when work finishes. If anything, the meetings probably gave a reason for the clients to come home by 5.30pm.

In Stacey McGill, Super Sitter she was late to meeting for a few weeks because of her job with the Cheplin's. But Kristy was pretty annoyed even though she was baby sitting and riding her bike in the snow and in the dark to get to the meeting at 5:45. Where she got to sit for all of 15 minutes before riding her bike back home.

I'd just like to point out Kristy and Abby are late to a meeting in SM2!

Kristy's strictness is really silly. Someone can answer the phone as long as there is someone there!
