Does anyone remember the part where Kristy is looking at herself in the mirror and wondering what she looks like when someone kisses her? She has her face so close to it and is like "omg my nose is HUGE!" That part always makes me lol ;D

Ooooh i hated Mary Anne in this book! she was being very selfish >> aww man yes i know she was having her problems but the way she was acting you'd think she abducted jake and was trying out her gross jello recipes on him. LOL XD
well, we know MA wouldn't do that, but hey, its funny because a lot of the time in the old spy movies they make out the character who doesn't give a d**n about the situation at hand the "BAD GUY"

I might be alone on this but I don’t think MA did anything wrong in this one or “didn’t care.” From what I remember, she did search for a while before going home. I don’t think that she should be expected to jeopardize something like her grade (obviously important to her) to search when others were already searching. She couldn’t have done all that much good. It would have been different if Jake had been a family member or even a member of one of the other members’ families. Had MA even sat for him by that book? To me, expecting MA to make a sacrifice that jeopardizes something major for her to look (for longer??? After all, it’s not like she didn’t help for a while – at least the way I remember it) is like saying that every time someone in a person’s town is missing, they should drop everything – no matter what it is – and stay out searching for that kid until he is found. I don’t know of many people who would do that but maybe I’m just not a very good person or don’t know a lot of good people. ;D This is just my feelings on the situation and I know that I’m in the minority.

^ Thanks. ;D I needed someone to agree with me on something today. ;D (I'm sick AGAIN and tired of it and in a bad mood from it....) I need to reread this one as it's one of my favorites. Almost did last night since I needed a good book. Maybe tonight. ;D

I tried to make Jello Jigglers, off the box, and they sucked. Then I realized I read the box wrong, so I guess it is possible to screw up jello.

I wish I didn't feel morally obligated to not eat jello.

Just reread this book, and I have a few things to say about it - I know I already said this, but this is one of the first Mysteries (and probably one of the first BSC books in general) that I read, so I'll always love it. I found it the other day and was extremely excited to reread it ;D - I don't think MA was very selfish, either. She did help look, even though she stopped a little earlier than everyone else. I think she stayed home while the BSC had an emergency meeting about Jake, but she kept calling asking if there was news and really, her skipping out on taking time to work on her Home Ec to go to an emergency meeting would NOT have helped Jake be found any quicker. (Whoa, that was a run-on sentence lol). - Nitpicky thing: I always assumed that the Kuhns were new in town - I don't know why, maybe because Kristy never heard of them until they joined the Krushers, and Kristy seemed to know all the kids in town! BUT, in this book, Sharon says that she knew Mr. Kuhn her whole life. I guess they did grow up in Stoneybrook (unless Mr. (and Mrs.?) Kuhn moved away, had kids, and then returned when they divorced, much like Sharon herself did). - I think I learned the word 'nanosecond' from this book. I remember Kristy's and Stacey's conversation about it, and how Charlotte asks if she were missing, would Stacey find her? Stacey replies 'in a nanosecond' ;D thought that was sweet - Also loved the popcorn picnic - it never fails to make me hungry for some myself! I also loved the idea of putting a whole bunch of different flavors on popcorn, and wanted to try it myself, but never did. Overall, I really enjoyed this book. Might have been the nostalgia but I honestly really liked the storyline. Even if it does contain mushy, gushy romance (yes, I was one of those kids who DIDN'T like to read about crushes on boys and stuff. I figured all other books were about that - if I wanted to read about that, I could pick up any other book! Guess that's why I liked the BSC so much - range of different topics

I learned the word nanosecond too. Also profound ;D
The popcorn picnic actually inspired me to put maple syrup on popcorn like one of the Kuhn girls did.

I'm not a big fan of maple syrup either. I prefer ordinary pancake syrup like Mrs. Butterworth. I remember in this book that Bart almost kissed Kristy when she was so upset about Jake missing. But then Karen barged into the room because there was a news report about Jake on TV. I also loved the part when Kristy is looking at her face close up in the mirror and thinks her nose would look HUGE if someone was going to kiss her.

- Also loved the popcorn picnic - it never fails to make me hungry for some myself! I also loved the idea of putting a whole bunch of different flavors on popcorn, and wanted to try it myself, but never did. When I go to the movies, I usually put barbecue seasoning and salt and vinegar seasoning on my popcorn at the same time.
