Claudia and the missing jewels

This one Claudia makes some earings and the babysitters help her set up a craft sale, were a lady who owns a local clothing store gives Claudia a 50 dollar down posit to mske her some of those earings to sale in her store. At the same time Kristy's family has hired a new house keeper name Julie that Kristy does not like and Karen is trying despretly hard to get Kristy's atention. For what ever reason not known to us Kristy talks Claudia into leaving her newly made earings for that womans store in a wooden trading card collecting box on Kristy's dresser. Eventually Kristy finds the box empty and earrings gone. Leaving Claudia in trouble who already spent the down payment on supplies and has known earings for the lady. Kristy suspects Julie of being the theif and has the babysitters club follow her all around town in some pretty funny results. Kristy eventually confronts Julie at the babysitters clubs flower sale and finds out it was not Julie who took the earings but Karen borrowed them gave one set to julie for her birthday and put the rest in her treasure tree to get Kristy's atention.


To tell you the truth I thought it was pretty brazen for Kristy to go up and just accuse an adult of stealing. I would thihnk she get her mom and Watson to help her talk to Julie and get to the bottom of it. And Karen should have been punished big time. Geez!

I loved this episode! If for no other reason, it was great to see Kristy basically telling Karen she's annoying the entire episode. It was almost cathartic to see.

Julie was an unnecessary addition, yet I loved her and would have liked to see her in more episodes. The part with the sitters spying on Julie around town was over-the-top and hilarious.

Why did they hire Julie when they had Nannie??

In Baby Sitters Little Sister, Karen does make a maypole for May Day.

OMG, this one opens with them carrying what I thought was a giant notebook the size of Kristy. It’s for Claudia’s enormous bags! It’s actually a decorated card table, lol. They go to a craft fair in the school gym and set up a little stand for Claudia’s jewelry.

$50 for 4 pairs of earrings = $12.50 per pair. That’s not bad. They looked really sturdy. It was sweet that Claudia wanted to throw the fifty into the club treasury.

Kristy’s family had hired help that wasn’t Nannie. There wasn’t even a mention of another Thomas/Brewer kid besides Karen. Julie seems a little touched in the head.

This little Karen is visually perfect. Haha, I think she improvised one of her lines when she was playing Go Fish with Claudia.

Kristy’s being such a butthead to Karen in this episode!

Holy crap, why would they give Jackie a cactus the size of his head to carry?

Claudia’s hat looks like the combination of a chef’s hat and a shower cap.

There must have been a bulk sale on fluorescent plastic sunglasses.

I want to know what else Karen shoved into that tree and if there were stylish squirrels running around the neighborhood.

Loved how Karen jumped directly off the page to TV! Their spying around town was so dorky.
