Does anyone ever wish you had a group of friends like the BSC? Are there friends like those in real life??? Just curious...

Haha, sometimes, with the BSC, it was definitely a "With friends like these..." situation. (see Mary Anne's Makeover and Claudia and the New Girl.)
I get what you mean though, because I desperately wanted a BSC-type group of friends when I was younger. Now I am satisfied with the friends I have, even if they aren't all in one group.

No, because as greer said "With friends like these..." I want as little drama as possible in life and having friends that cause drama over minor things doesn't sound very appealing to me.

Like the others kind of mentioned, it is possible but a bit unrealistic.

Are you talking about friends who are also co-workers of yours where one of them is your boss, where a lot of the glue that holds the friendship together comes from being a part of that business that you're all employed at? If so, I'd say no.

I wanted a group of friends like the BSC when I was younger. I am pretty happy with the friends I have now though.

When I first started reading the BSC, I did wish I had friends like them. After Jessi and the Bad Baby-Sitter and Stacey vs. the BSC, I changed my mind.

I think a lot of us have shared (true for me) that one of the reasons we enjoy reading the BSC books is because a lot of the time anyway, the girls' middle school experiences were much more positive to the reality that ours were. As far as their actual friendships that is debatable and sadly in some books did seem non existent. I have to believe at heart, the girls really did care for one another, even if sometimes like in the two books Candykane mentioned, they sure didn't show it! I did just post in The Truth About Stacey thread and said I would have enjoyed reading about the holiday season in 7th grade. I'll add here that perhaps another reason I would have enjoyed more of the girls in 7th grade is because, the stories at that time were much more centered on them, their immediate neighborhood, and even some family time. I think if there had been a few more of this type of book, we might have also enjoyed more of their early friendships.

I think at heart, the girls cared about each other. They were middle school girls though, and girls aren't always...the nicest at that age.
