What adventures do you think Mal would have got up to at Riverbend, whether it was the good old Super Special/Mystery style ones (trips to a thousand places and mystery and celebrity sightings) or plain old learning and making friends?
I imagine she would've written loads of stories and poems, and I envision her staying friends with Smita et al. and discovering/squeeing over hipsterish cafes because they sound so writerly. Do you think she would've changed her style in terms of fashion?

I think they would have gotten up to some hijinks exploring the campus (when you're stuck on a campus 24/7 in the middle of nowhere, things like going up to a roof are THRILLING!). I think she would distinguish herself as a class leader, and maybe end up a prefect or even class president. I just read Stacey's Problem because I was working on its wiki entry, and there's a lot of stuff about Mal being a leader and coming into her own.
Fashion-wise, I see her getting into menswear, since she was carrying her dad's briefcase around. I can see her doing an Annie Hall-type thing, clotheswise. After an attempt at hyper-trendy clothes like glitter sweatshirts, she'll realize that more classic clothes in her autumn palette work for her better.

I love the idea of her having an Annie Hall look. She was sort of going for that in the movie, with the ties...she wore ties sometimes, right? It's been so long since I've seen it.
A Mal at Riverbend series would have been fun.

I also like the Annie Hall look idea, and I bet Ann would be into that as well -- she's probably a fan of the film.

I can, too, imagine Mal going for the "Annie Hall" look. It would be pretty cute look for her.

I could see mal going wearing ties and stuff like that. The Annie Hall look as everyone else has said.

I imagine her into flannel, but not specifically ties/oversized men's wear.

I can also see her wearing Coldwater Creek when she is older.

I bet she'd play around a little with style. She complained so much about how her parents restricted her fashion choices at earlier points in the series; I bet she'd use the relative freedom she has at Riverbend to try out different looks.

I've never read the book where she went to Riverbend. What book is it anyway?

It's book 126, The All New Mallory Pike. Ohh it's way later in the books. Thanks for telling me. (And for welcoming me, too!) I'll have to look for it and read it.
