I forgot to say yesterday that I think this is the only book where both Dawn and MA refer to Sharon as "Mrs. Spier." Both of their postcards were addressed to "Mr. and Mrs. Richard Spier." O/T sort of...The Kishis lived at 58 Bradford Court. MA's old house (the Hobarts current house) was said to be 59 Bradford Court. Does that mean "Kristy" used to live at either 61 or 63 Bradford Court? I ask because I'm almost certain at one time, either Kristy or the Perkinses were given an "even numbered" address. I know all about the "inconsistencies" in BSC-land.

Remember when the makeup counter lady examined Mallory's face with a flashlight? Who does that? I've never had anyone do my makeup for me, so I don't know anything about the makeover experience. The lady was all "Hmmm. Not bad. Not bad at all," while she looked at Mal's face. LOL!

^Lol. Ann couldn't give Mal any kind of break or positive treatment, could she?

Maybe she was being nice and trying to make Mal feel all special instead of treating her like the kid she still was?

^ considering that those ladies at the makeup counter are there to sell their products, and knowing that an 11 year old girl shopping without her parents probably couldn't afford much of anything, she was definitely being very nice :]

Am rereading this and a little confused. Mallory writes to her parents at one point and addresses the postcard to 'mr and mrs daniel pike'. I thought her dad's name was John according to the complete guide to the bsc. Gotta love the inconsistencies...
My husband took a look at the cover and pointed at Stacey and said he knew she had to be a skank. Also that all of them looked a decade older than 11 and 13

"Dee and Daniel" sounds cute. I like the name Daniel.
You haven't posted in awhile Katie, welcome back! Congrats on husband + baby.

This has probably been mentioned before, but it always bothered me that Stacey and Claudia bought a lot of Mallory's make up. Mallory must have REALLY been buying the wrong colors if it also looked good on Stacey's and Claudia's complexions. Mal is a pale redhead, Claudia is Asian, and Stacey seems to tan easily (doesn't she mention getting tan in the Sea City books?). Maybe Mallory bought a lot of eyeshadows and that's what they bought off of her.

Also that all of them looked a decade older than 11 and 13 I've never been sure which one was Stacey and which one was Dawn on this cover. I think Stacey is wearing the black and yellow tank? Seems too fashion-forward for Dawn; plus I think the girl in the yellow-and-black has darker hair than the one in the bikini. And I wonder what your husband would think of me. ROFL. A bathing suit is a bathing suit, people. It's not like they were wearing thongs or whatever. They DO look a LOT older than 11/13, though!

^ I always thought the one in the bikini was Stacey, because she'd be more likely to wear that type of suit than Dawn. Plus, isn't that one laughing with Claudia over something? Not that Claud and Dawn aren't friends; I would just expect to see Stacey with Claud before I'd expect to see Dawn.

Plus Stacey's hair is pretty short, I think Dawn's has a little more length. No ghostwriter for this one.

I also thought it was Stacey in the bikini because it looked like maybe she was or had been laughing with Claudia whose looking right at her.

I always assume if it's a blonde next to Claudia, it's Stacey. It would be much easier to tell them apart if the pictures showed Stacey with a perm and Dawn with waist-length white-blonde hair...

Hahaha - Claudia's "who are you" in her letters. Man reading her letters to her parents and Janine makes me cringe. I'm betting when she got back home they made her study after realizing how bad the problem was! I'm guessing Terry realizes that she definitely wasn't all that book smart after the letter to him.
I think Bart is a doof too! His letter to Kristy - "Tell the cute girls Bart Taylor says hi" but then he signs it love you. I know he was joking but yuck!
I really loved reading about the last day with the girls all back together! What a great book!
